I like the way that they jazzed up the song without being disrespectful to it. Obviously a lot of younger people at that time had begun to abandon the faith that they grew up in because they found it outdated. I think that this song showed that their faith could be modern without abandoning its principles.

Call me crazy but everytime I listen to this song I cry because it makes me SO EMOTIONAL in so many ways. The voices, the fact that this song is like the initiation to bringing more people to church, the open-mindedness of the priest and the nuns, and so much more. I can really relate to this song so much which is why it makes me so emotional! :')

The Most Merciful and Most Sincere Mother of God, as His people and the people of the Lord Jesus in the Most Holy Trinity, we praise Him with anything, God does not look at ethnicity, race, language and culture. If you praise God by forbidding singing like that. What about Catholics in Arabia and India? They are not singing but chanting if in Indian language, namely "Mantra".

I'm Catholic, my brother is a priest, and there are tons of religious in my family and I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SONG because it's such a hoot :) and it would incredible if many choirs could follow suit. We could reach out to so many different genres of people. Anyways, I love this song.

Whoopie!!! I was in the choir for 6 yrs... singing this song, as a kid. "Not quite this way" Still LOVE it , and the incredible and dedicated nuns that made me the successful woman that I have become. Salve Regina! My kids think that Sister Mary Clarence was "my " nun" ! They both bought me this movie, and know all the songs!!! Quite an accomplishment! Thanks.... Love you

It made me feel good seeing people comming off the street. Dressed as they are and comming to church. Now when you go to most churches they look to see how you are dressed. If it isn't very good , if you dress the best that you have, and people doesn't approve or I SHOULD SAY your not as good as they are??? Or you can't put a fortion in the offering (some churches. Gives the impression that they would rather for you not to be there.) Seen it many times..

Listening to the singing in this scene, I can still feel peace and love coming from the song. I think that songs of praise can be sung in happy and joyful spirit as well as in quiet and calm spirit, just as long as their is true love coming our from your heart when you sing them.

It honestly wouldn't be as good. It's been like 20 years since sister act 2. Maybe someone could do like a re-imagining somewhere along the line, but I have a high feeling that a direct sequel with whoopie and everything would just end up falling flat.

@@oreqqhia I don't think you're a catholic if you don't believe in the very basis of Catholic belief. If God didn't create the earth then what do you think God is? Who created it then? It just "appeared"? And if mary wasn't a virgin then are you saying that Jesus is the product of sex? So you don't believe that Jesus is God? In that case my friend you are probably closer to something along the lines of Buddhism or Islam. Not even Christian at this point.

I'm Protestant, but I love how delightfully irreverent film was. The process where Mary Clarence takes over the choir showcases beautifully both the stately beauty of a hymn, and the more fun, free-spirited, wholeheartedness that worship can be, at the same time. Church doesn't have to be boring.
