Sisterlock Regrets? 

Everything you said. I LOATHED wash day; it was LITERALLY a day!!!! Plus my shrinkage was so epic, any styles required prayer and fasting, meditation, and saging!!!

I'm 8 months in. I NEVER thought I would ever be able to wash and dry my hair within 1 hour with no extra products before sisterlocks. No regrets here! 🥰

Sisterlocks are so very BEAUTIFUL! My microlocs consultant is also a cosmetologist, a trichologist, and a former sisterlocs consultant that now does microlocs (she and her team still maintain locs for sisterlocks clients). I chose microlocs over sisterlocks because of some of the rules that are in place with sisterlocks. No oils, only certain shampoo products can be used, as well as the retightening schedule. Having a consultant that is also well versed in how to take care of my hair as well as my scalp made me feel comfortable since I know that I had some issues with my hair being dry as well as my scalp being dry. My retightening schedule is based solely on my hair type, condition, and texture. Many people think that my locs are sisterlocks. I tell them that they are microlocs.

I have sisterlocks, and I’m about a year and 2 months in and I love it!! Absolutely no regrets and my favorite thing about having them is not worrying about sweating my hair out or worrying about the weather!! I’m like you, I think I was made for locs and I wish I started them sooner. Your hair is beautiful ❤️

I got SisterLocks on 3/7/21 and I have no regrets I think it was the best decision for my hair texture which is 4c and not very dense. I have new growth growing in areas that would alway break off because of detangling, I don’t have to worry about that anymore and I love it! Love your har....I had locs for 11 years, I decided to cut my locs to start sisterlocs because of the many challenges I was dealing with due to my hair texture. Im now 4 months in with my lovely sisterlocs. I wish I made this choice 11 years ago. Its just hair as I often say, it will grow back. Trusting the process and enjoying my new journey. I'm 8 months in and sisterlocks have been the best decision I've ever made. Absolutely NO regrets Wash day was an absolute nightmare and now I'm free to get up shake and go. In 8 months my hair has gotten so full. I can't say I've had much growth because shrinkage is still very real but I'm totally enjoying this journey.

Your crown is glorious!! I am definitely on that team of fine, low density ,sensitive scalp. Everything you have said I have experience also and that's why I have chosen to do micro braid locks on my hair this is actually my third set. I was before 2 years locked and my hair never sealed at the end they stay curly which I did not mind because it looks very unique. Now two months in with the new ones. I was redeemed from the creamy crack ,liberated from loose natural and envolved to lock glory! Spray shake and go is my motto! I feel more beautiful with my natural locks than any other hair formation.

I've been doing a lot of research and when I told my stylist that I was thinking about getting sisterlocks, he totally agreed. I love my natural hair but I just don't have the time to live it like I used to. I feel that sisterlocks will give me the freedom that I need. It's so versatile too. Thank you for sharing your loc journey!! Your videos are what made me finally get the courage to comb out my traditional locs (2-strand twist locs) and get Sisterlocks. LITERALLY THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. I’ve become obsessed with them and it’s only been 4 months 🤣 Anytime I make a decision that causes me stress I look at my hair and I’m just like, “at least I don’t have to worry about you” 😭 I’ve never taken care of my hair, even going natural my Afros looked raggedy because I HATED. HAAAATED doing it. My traditional locs were cute, super cute, but I only “really liked” then I didn’t “love them” (if that makes sense). I LOVE my hair. And I’m even doing some styles (minimal because just down looks beautiful). My only regret is that I didn’t get them in 2020 like I wanted to initially (chickened out and got traditional instead). I would’ve said itching was my second regret like a week ago, but the witch hazel helped me a LOT so I’m even good there. So thank you for being an inspiration!!

I have sisterlocks! Don’t regret at all! Got them in Oct 2020 with 15 inches. Best part is the freedom!

I have 7 month old DIY braidlocs and even though I'd prefer more volume I love my braidlocs and have no regrets whatsoever. They have made my washdays so much quicker and easier, drying time is 2 hours or less and styling is a breeze. Simple product list - oils and rosewater. Best thing - NO DETANGLING!!!!!

I love Sisterlocks, I have fine hair, but where I live there’s no Sisterlock consultant so I didn’t want to travel every time for my retie I found someone to do me some micro locs and she have to interlock my hair because of how fine my hair is, my install date will be June 2nd and 3rd I’m so excited

I went through the same issues with my hair! The middle of my hair would consistently break off which was so aggravating and each time I would big chop because I hate breakage. This last breakage was it. I made the choice to do sisterlocks and I know I will not regret. Only a week in and I LOVE everything about it. Shrinkage, scalp and itching it's all ❤

I truly appreciate your honesty. Where your hair used to be is where I am today with "the puff". Hair breakage right in the middle. I'd like sisterlocks and this is a decision I've been researching for a minute. I'll probably colour my hair before and establishment. New subbie!

Your locks are very pretty. I am older, going into my 8th month with Sisterlocks and have NO regrets. I wish I'd done it sooner and I wish my hair was shorter when I'd gotten them done, because I like how they look when they grow out on short hair. My hair is fine but dense, except at the top and crown where it was beginning to thin. Sisterlocks have helped with that and by the third week the grid is pretty much invisible in that area too. I think my thinning was the result of too many products from wash & gos which had my scalp very itchy and even painful. Also I pulled my hair up too much of the time even during the years I was relaxed and when I went natural again years ago my go-to style was a puff. Because my hair is type 4 and cottony, it took a lot to keep it smoothed down and I think the elastic used in wearing a puff can also slow circulation to your crown, so be careful wearing it!. My ends have always been pretty resilient. My only worry is how thick the locks will be eventually because they're fattening up a lot now. I have 464 which seems right, and I don't want more because retightening goes pretty quickly. My hair ranged from 6 to 7 inches when I got them done and now ranges from 10-14 inches.

You are in my head.....everything you said is very true. I am grey & natural, I have shoulder problems & this is what I want, a thinkless styling no products.

I have sisterlocks, one month in. I choose them because I was tired of going on a journey to find someone to do something to my hair all the time. I like going to the same person. My loctician is awesome and affordable, she also washes my hair in between retires if I needed for free. At my consultation I told her I was tired of combing my hair, and she said don't worry I got you. I haven't touched my hair since that day and I love it. No regrets!

Almost two years (May 27th) and no regrets! This is the best hair decision ever, I love how versatile my hair is and I love that wash day is so easy and I usually get a beautiful braid out after! And plus, if not for my sisterlocks, I probably wouldn't have started my RU-vid channel!

I love your hair and it reminds me of my hair so much. When I saw your first video I knew I was making the right decision to get sister locs. My hair is between thin and thick full in the back patchy in the middle and got some length towards the front. Exact same texture I have really bad edges always have and I only wear braids as soon as I find a stylist I'm going to go ahead and get the sister locs. Thanks for the vid.

I completely agree with everything you said, I had the same issues minus the widows peak. Due to my fine hair I didn't even try and do braids because of my fragile hairline. I am two weeks into my journey and so glad I made the change.

I have been locked 2 years with thin, very low density hair. My crown is getting thinner. I love my locks, but am worried about my scalp on top. I have an appointment with a dermatologist next month and I am hoping she can help me thicken my hair on top. Just to fill in. Your hair is beautiful. Just the right amount of fullness.

I have microlocks started with interlocking.....no regrets!!!! Best thing is wash days like you mentioned!!! No detangling, deep conditioning, etc.

Wow your hair and mine are exactly the same. I had the same issues, but I did the sew-in weaves regardless. I’ve put off locks since 2000 due to my hair density. But no more. I am embarking on the sister lock journey on June 27th. Can’t wait. But the cost though! Lol.

I have sisterlocs and I’m 3 months in. Some days I regret going on this journey because the back of my hair is prone to slippage because my hair is curly and I’m always stressed when I wash my hair. I also wish I waited until my hair was a bit longer to do my install. The shrinkage is real. However I will not give up because I’ve always wanted sisterlocs so I will continue with the process. I know it will be worth it.

I started with 2 strand mini twist. I love my microlocs. I wish I had started the process a long time ago. I’m a year in now. I have 4c hair, it was work and wash days were terrible days smh. Styling was always a hassle and don’t get me started on detangling smh… so glad those days are over😊.

Sister loc’d since 2/20/21! I love the way my hair curls up even though it’s loc’d! I love it most when full just before my retire!

I have d.i.y. micros. It has now been 2 months and I love them! I did research for 6 months and decided that I could do it. I have 360 locs and it took me 36 hrs. The best decision I've ever made besides going natural.

My consultation is this Saturday and I am super excited...and nervous, lol.

I started my locks with Sisterlocks TM and it's the best decision I have EVER mad for my hair! I did think about Micro lock but when I looked at them I was not feeling the parting. To me they don't look as neat as Sisterlocks.

My experience is the same as yours. No regrets. I don't have to worry about getting a hair appointment, going to the beauty supply store buying the hair to install. Then praying they don't back out. Then having to worry about what do do next. No detangling and no products!!!

I currently have micro locs and I took mine down and redid it myself. But it still flat and so much shrinkage. I used to have thick hair but since I’ve hair has older my hair has gotten thin. I dont hate my micro locs but I’m just not in love with it. I believe if my got sister locs that it would look like yours, same length to. With my twist micro locs it looks short

Now here is why. My Sytlist was telling me we can’t put how we want our locks I forgot about what she said it was something about the patterns. So can you please tell me how did you tell your Sytlist how you wanted your hair as far as your pattern. Cuz I have dreadlocks before for 18 years and I always wear my hair to the back . No regrets I'm 6 months in but have mini twist

I have had mine for 5 months and feel like giving up. I like them but I have flakes. Every time I ask my stylist about them she say I just need rinse better when washing and don’t put anything in it. I feel like that’s not it.
