When they say starting at, I lock them in to a price. I told her I need an actual price. I cant imagine $3250. WTH???😢

Jesus! My feelings were hurt for you! I had a terrible hair salon experience myself.. it cost me about $200-$300 and that's when I made a vow to myself to never, not ever let a "professional" touch my hair. I might not know everything about hair, natural hair, or locs, but I trust my knowledge about "my hair" over anyone else. Thanks for sharing!

Whew! This struck a major chord 😫 I just combed my microlocs out, because the loctician I chose was very inconsistent with my sizing. Getting them reinstalled with a new loctician this weekend. Happy you finally got what you wanted 💕

So sorrry you went through that however, sharing was a real eye opener for me...I found a young lady that said she gave up her certification as a consultant, but is now a trainee, which I find being comparable to being an RN and then going to an LPN ( don' come for me y'all, I started out as a NA, MA,LPN to an RN, so I have mad respect for each role). However, I've not found her on the Sisterlocs registry as either...sooo, I'm listening to that still small voice (thank you Jesus) and checking out other locticians. Thank-you for sharing your story, as it's an eye opener (at least it was for me).

As a so called professional she needs to be held to a higher standard and she should have cut your hair BEFORE the install!! She cut off the portion she didn’t loc. Scam artist!!!! Sad. Hi. Shame Shame Shame! I had a horrible install as well. I'm 12 years loc'd now. What started as a nightmare ended in a sweet dream. I never regretted my decision. I only wish I had chosen a different Loctician. I wanted pencil width locs. I shared that along with pics. My consultant should have sent me elsewhere. Reason being SL's are not pencil width! Smh She also charged 950 for my length but a lot of the length was left loose! At the time I had no idea.🤦‍♀️ In fact I learned that years later. I asked about the loose length only concerned with if it would eventually loc or not. I was sooooo dissatisfied with how tiny my locs appeared. They looked like strings. When I complained to her. She told me I could come back after they matured and she could combine them. I'm sure she was not going to combine them for free. I was not giving her one more cent after not getting what I asked for in the first place. So I took to RU-vid. I learned how to combine. I combined my entire head of locs. After they matured they got even thicker. I eventually achieved the size locs and the look I wanted. The blessing was in not removing the initial install. That would have been a waste of 950. I figure I made my money 💵 back by maintaining my locs for the past 12 years. It makes me feel better about the entire experience. I am glad you have your happy ending as well. Girllllll, all I can say is whew! There would have been some furniture moving (fighting) up in there. Plus why did she wait until after all those days of working to then come chop your hair off. I know you learned from this though. Trust your gut and if something doesn't sound right speak up! Glad your hair turned out beautifully.

It is very unfortunate that this happened, but it continues to happen because no one has called her out. I'm sure she only does this to people she thinks she can get over on. She preys on people who don't wamt confrontation, so they pay and move on leaving her unscathed for the next unsuspecting patron. At least you ended up with beautiful hair in the end. I am glad you learned to speak up for yourself. I would still take her to court for breach of contract.

Curious: Did she tell you what the additional $1,000 for? That is a substantial difference in price. So she charged you for length, then turned around and cut it off! I hope you found a trusted consultant to service you.

You definitely should expose her. You can do it in a way that is legal. You don’t want someone else to come across her.

So basically she cut your hair to clean up her mess , that hair she cut off should’ve been locked smh. I see that many people use the sisterlocs brand to take advantage of people and it’s sad. Sorry that you had to go through this and I’m glad that you found a new consultant.

Lord that was so shady and unprofessional that's why,I don't like to share my occupation with people like her they always ask they will try and over charge you for services basically extorting more money out of you taking advantage. I hate this I've never heard of $2,000 much less $3,000 for sisterlocks here in California they charge $1,000 for installation flat, then $250 for hair 4 or 5 inches then $35 added for each additional inch past 5 inches she was extorting money out of you that's horrible.
