@@ballincat43. look kid, i get that you want your videos to be popular, but here’s a tip, stop promoting your own channel in the comments/replies you will not succeed like that, nobody likes a spammer, if you want your videos to get popular make good videos and share them with people who are in the same or a similar niche as you, and if you’re especially confident in your work share it with a bigger youtuber don’t ask them to share it but ask them to enjoy it.
Props to the editor, the part where both Jerma and Star were arguing and began screaming at one another to a hard cut really felt like an OG Jerma/Star video, the exact kinda in-editing humour!
@@Kezsora Oh I'm SO sorry you read it like that. My SINCEREST apologies. - joking aside i really was being genuine, i just forgot how to talk like a normal human last night!
35:44 Somehow its the only thing I remember from the entire stream, most likely because I was half awake and when I heard that I was like "Wait, what!?"
I'm not surpised jerma's penguin looks like a chiseled stone god with luscious locks of hair straight from a shampoo commercial while ster's one probably loves to eat nutrition pellets
34:52 "Let's wait for the wind" "Uhhhhhh-huh" ... "WOWOWOWOWOWW... WAOW... WWOAOWWW; *WOW!!* *WOW*" "Cuhmahn, come aun" _sounds of a rabid witch drowning in a vat of acid_
Music producer here, limiters will help keep a sound below a peak level but won't usually help w the sorta thing that happened in the DMC stream because a sound can register a peak DB level relatively low but still sound REALLY LOUD to our ears. If anything ppl usually use limiters in music to make things louder, paradoxically. Tldr: limiters don't stop evil jerma nuke sounds.
It might if the lookahead is high enough and there's no attack on the limiter since there's a delay between the audio going out from OBS (so for DMC Jerma gets nuked and we get hit by a very compressed explosion)
@@2chickenmama while you're right, I imagine the limiters on jerma's stream aren't set anywhere near low enough that viewers actually get much in the way of relief from the explosion to catch a sound as loud and distorted as that from the DMC stream. Tbf I haven't tested it so I'm running of theory alone here but because the sound itself has a peak to average of basically 0, I can't imagine it'd be that much quieter than what we hear in the VOD. It might prevent your speakers from completely blowing though if you're watching on them.
@@SophiesName for sure, the threshold was probably still 0db and with jerma not redlining when he streams it would definitely be an awful surprise for the viewers with the jump in dynamic range lol. Although I do wonder if twitch does any kind of audio normalisation on their end, that way we'd only get the occasional jumpscare instead of tinnitus Also that's so nice ty!! the feeling is mutual, I'm glad I got to have this chat about preventing audio nukes lol
I'm an audio engineer. Loudness is very complicated and there's a lot of factors that contribute to it. One of the most important is crest factor, which is the ratio of peak to average signal. A limiter's primary use is to decrease the crest factor by lowering peaks, bringing them closer to the average level (decreasing dynamics). At the same time, they also add harmonic distortion which can make a sound louder by adding frequencies and filling out the spectrum (which doesn't affect dynamics). So while a sound might not be dynamic, it might still be loud because of its spectral content. Something important but not normally talked about is how "loud" means the opposite of what most people mean when it comes to music. People normally call something loud when it's very dynamic, like a jumpscare or when an explosion happens in a movie. But in music when we say loud we mean LOW dynamics. By that metric something like a movie with a high dynamic range is actually very quiet.
27:30 I have to agree with Ster. The confirmation is just more room for error, especially on platforms that crumble. The 321 already has you in sync, so pausing jeopardizes that sync thus leading to another potential for failure. If someone missed, then it's already messed up in that case.
I agree more with jerma. the slight pause gives time for the payer to plan a jump and be more accurate. i think if you're doing it at full speed that leaves more room for a player freaking out or not recognizing a jump and losing timing. as long as they can keep a good pattern like they did, i believe its a better strategy.
@@dagreenllama8172 what more is there to plan when you already see where to jump before you start? You don’t want to be sitting on a crumbling platform and trying to change the plan mid jump.
I tuned in for the first hour and had to go, I thought this would be a game they play for an hour, get annoyed at, move on But they did it, they reached the peek. Absolute god gamers.
the whole thing around 23:30 feels like a Seinfeld bit, but I totally get it. Ster plays comp shooters so his reflexes and timings are much better than Jerma. Jerma is an old man who can't remember his own birthday and also he paints houses for fun. It's like when a kid has to slow down to explain how computers work to their mom.
I didn't even have to scroll and we got: * Imagine Sisyphus happy jokes * Ultrakill jokes * Sus jokes * Mention of Corax's videos * Ster And the first words out of Jerma's mouth are "I have a limiter." This is the best video ever made. You can retire.
Honestly them arguing about their timing philosophy was beautiful, both valid methods on how to do it but they fought ferociously, ster with his built in timing and jerma with his more rhythm based timing. Pause rep vs built in timing are good names for them.
when they were arguing about jerma timing vs gamer timing it sounded exactly like my grandparents every time one of them does something marginally resembling a mistake or fault
A visitor... Mmmm... Indeed. I have slept long enough. The kingdom of Heaven has long since forgotten my name, and I am EAGER to make them remember. However, the blood of Minos stains your hands, and I must admit, I'm curious about your skills, Weapon. And so, before I tear down the cities, and crush the armies of Heaven... you, shall do as an appetizer. Come forth, child of man, and DIE.
