I appreciate the 1/2 vlogs, I learn much more from these relevant stakes rather than 100/200 pots that would pay off my mortgage. Thank you so much!

Yea the money actually matters to these people not like those crazy stakes where they can lose 500k like it's nothing blows my mind how unevenly distributed money is in this world and don't tell me it's because some people don't "work hard" for it the hardest workers on this planet make the most modest wages the system is broken

The downside to these 1/2 games is the max 300 buy-in; imagine sitting down and building a $1200 stack at a table where there are a bunch of stacks around $1k only to get stacked off with a 65os from someone calling really big bets and hitting trips on u...u can only buy back in for $300, what are the chances ur gonna be able to build back up to $1k again? As opposed to the 1/3 table u can buy in match the stack, or heck even just $1k...it is much easier to get back 300 in this game than to do so in the 1/2 game. These games in Texas are weird. Some places have 1/2 with 300 max, most have 1/3 with 2k max or match big stack, and that is it unless it is a live stream or ur in Dallas where they have 2/5. The action in Texas is second to none, but they should follow Vegas buy-in rules more closely. Even playing 1/3 with someone putting down 5k as an initial buy-in seems ludicrous to me. I guess I am saying there aren't many middle size games. It is either 300 max or unlimited basically. I play around Houston in a 1/3 game where a lot of people sit down with 100 or 200 bucks. Then someone else sits down with 1500. It would be nice to have a 2/5 with 1500 max buy-in or match the stack, but after all this is Texas...2/5 games are usually unlimited buy-in. It makes for some lopsided games. How does a 1/3 have basically an unlimited buy-in? Whereas in vegas 10/20 games often have a 2k or 2.5k max or match the stack. It just allows people with very deep pockets to run over the games by spreading tons of chips. I'd much rather have a 300 big blind game than 1000 big blind games...it makes the strategy better. Just my opinion.

@@tanthony298 Yep, that's well said. It's gross that folks buy in to games for $500,000 on the table. Even the smaller pots they play would be life-changing money. They can do what they want with their money but it does highlight some things in this world I agree.

I love your videos because they are realistic. It shows he highs, lows, variance, donks, etc. Its very educational. I had one TERRIBLE session a few nights ago where I was in for 3 buy-ins and then smashed a flop with top set against two pair and broke even. It was a good reminder to play solid and be patient, plug leaks in our play, and work to improve, something your channel showcases consistently.

It really resonated with me when you said you were feeling a bit tilted and you needed to shake it off. I felt like that this weekend when I played a tournament I almost started feeling shaky no confidence at all, and I just had to shake it off as you said, and I ended up winning the tournament, I love watching your Vlogs because it gives me more confidence and I remember things that you say helps me get back on track

@04:43 Excellent control of your emotions! We've all been to Tilt Town so can't blame you for the feelings. Your keen recognition and mind adjustment will make you an excellent and dangerous poker player for decades to come! Like a rock! @05:28 The evolution of poker mastermind! @10:13 Which is why playing KJo multi-way is usually a losing proposition @14:27 Give yourself credit for combining your analytical skill with your live actions read of the opponent. Now THAT'S how you play poker! @16:21 I think you maximized your potential on this session. Even a modest loss can be huge in the big picture bc sometimes you'll just be card dead and/or the run outs can be unfavorable. This was a very good session for you!

This is the 1st 1/2 game I've watched. Kind of mind blowing the difference in perspective. But this is the level I would absolutely have to start at and this was very informative. Since my comment was highlighted I'm going to add that she talks her way through the hand from different perspectives before making her call. This video was informative for more than just the dollar amount. I'd love to have a friend like you 😅 unfortunately I'm having to learn strategy through youtube. Thank you for posting 😁

The guy who tried bluffing you on the three-spade board when you had trip 5’s - at the end he says “you’re good I have a ten”. And then you say: maybe he had KT with the K of spades or AT with the ace of spades… you’re putting your mindset into your opponents’ minds. Most of them don’t even think to use a strong spade as a blocker. They usually primitively think “well I can’t win with this hand, so I need to bluff”. Just remember that other players often don’t use the same logic as you do, so you have to watch out for that when doing things like calling lightly.

that first hand is a perfect example, and i mean PERFECT of "recreational poker in Las Vegas" (only place i get to play much ). any casino, at the $1/$2 LEVEL, has people with money but near zero skills, playing "favorite' hands.. thats why i NEVER sit with headphones, as "table talk" can make you money.. hearing " oh i always play K-9, cuz there is almost always a K or 9 on the flop ".. actual player talk.. another " I love Q4,it just looks so good and sneaky ".. yea.. people are chatter boxes at cheaper levels, and tend to drink more as well. watch, listen, drink diet soda or coffee...

I love that comment, "Raise big so you get heads up or win the pot preflop." LOL. You must play in a different part of Texas than I play in. (You said where in the first couple of seconds, but I couldn't understand you.) I was playing at TCH Austin recently the same game: $1/$2 with a $300 cap. There was an open to $15 and two calls so I raised to $70 with QQ. Two cold callers, then the PFR and the caller both call. Yep, five to the flop for 35 BBs. I see a board of J75 rainbow. I bet $125 and call the check-raise all in by the SB (who, remember, cold-called the $70 three-bet preflop), for only $65 more. He wins with 75offsuit. It was a great game. I did come back from that hole to finish ahead. Edit: I meant to add that I really like how you flash quickly past the hands you folded. It gives a more realistic view of the game just to see how much you just fold out if you're a winning player. I VP$IP around 25%, and at least half of those I fold on the flop. People I talk to who aren't players but have watched a few videos seem to think you play more than half the hands.

77 hand: you need to size up more on the turn, 35 or 40 not just 20. TT hand vs SB on the monetone board: you bet 10 into 48, that's a bit too small, about 1/3 is the right sizing. JKo in BB vs raiser (who usually limps so now should be much stronger): fold pre.

Don't feel too bad Ash. This a.m. I had KK and got stacked by AA, plus they flopped an extra A just to rub it in. Then 2 hrs later same exact thing happened but I didn't lose my stack. Mierde! The upside is it was just 20NL.

if you go all in pre, you may have a smaller pair call you putting you as aAK or aQ. then you only have to fade the a, not 54 off or wuited.. 4 ways kk are 505 at best, and if they miss the turn you should protect. pot odds. bet odds.

just haven't been interested in playing the 300 max 1/2 there. nice to see what the table action is like there. good playing. first hand is just aggravating. the 1500 2/5 seems more interesting. why'd you end up over there in that area of the metro? seems like the drive would make me crazy. especially to the dallas place. the airport too. more space between you and the neighbors? prob a nice trade off. keep posting those vids...

I agree with the 2/5 selection...probably better for her skill set anyways, and being handcuffed with a 300 max buy-in is awful if u build a nice stack and happen to get flattened by another big stack. U can only buy in 300, so it really caps ur win rate in that instance.

Is it mandatory to tip the dealer every time you win a hand? Are you ostracized in some way if you don't? Seems to me the tipping is a bit out of control sometimes, especially when technically the dealer had absolutely nothing to do with you winning a hand (aside from shuffling the deck). It is your skill that wins hands.

If you're going to do the vlog, at least display the correct attitudes. You're blessed to play in Texas and swim every day with these fish. But you can only complain that you had KK and someone called your massive raise with 65o and lucked out. It was the first hand, and you're still whining about it at the very end. Are you so used to them being so bad, that you expect to win every single time. It's gambling, why else do they keep coming back.... You've completely lost the plot this time, sorry.

Oh, and here's what ChatGPT said to tell you: "I understand how frustrating it can be to make a seemingly perfect play and then get beaten by what appears to be a random, off-chance decision. Poker is a game of skill, but luck is undeniably a factor in individual hands." "Poker has a lot of variance. Over the short term, anything can happen, including 'bad beats'. However, in the long run, skill prevails." If you got in with the best hand, then you made the right move. That's a winning play in the long run." "As a vlogger, your audience is looking not just for gameplay but also for insight, analysis, and entertainment. Turning these experiences into learning moments or even humorous reflections can be more engaging."
