You play so much tighter than what I'm accustomed to. It's nice to learn from a different style of playing. I guess also when you play 2/5 you have to assume opponents have strong holdings almost all of the time
@BluffaloSam
@BluffaloSam 9 месяцев назад
We're multiway a lot, and most of my opponents are thinking players on the tighter side. Nearly everyone in live poker is severely underbluffing, and I think moreso in Vancouver, where players are a bit more on the conservative side.

I think on the kings top set hand the river is a pure value bet. Maybe like 280-350 get that crying call from 10s as stated. The frequency he’s gonna turn any hand into a bluff is very seldom compared to the amount you would just get a call
@mztan
@mztan 10 месяцев назад
Love the vlogs! Curious if you could expound a bit on your decision to check the river w/ KK on K7679. Does the possibility that you have AQ/AJdd/missed diamonds widen your bluffing range sufficiently such that you can profitably shove the river and get called by JJ, TT, 88, or any hand that riveted a 9? Or do you feel that you simply don’t have enough bluffs? I ask because I instinctively would have shoved the river as I feel that villain has mostly showdown value with very few missed draws, though I didn’t actually enumerate the combinations.
@BluffaloSam
@BluffaloSam 10 месяцев назад
I figured if he has trips, he's gonna bet himself when checked to, I don't think his pocket pairs below KK call Turn, so I thought he was weighted towards trips, or missed draws. Missed draws aren't calling a bet, and trips are most likely betting River. I also really like having monsters in my River Check range, just incase I'm bluffing with something like AQ that still has SDV vs some missed draws, they can't just relentlessly bluff me when checked to

Im the villian in the Ac6c hand, i called you down with QcQx, my read was you had 86 exactly, but im also beating 8/7 7/6 6/5 type hands that would bet river, and my Qc plus Kc on the board blocks a lot of 2 club broad way hands. was thinking between jamming and calling tbh, . Guess i saved money not jamming if you were gonna call off. Good hand see u next time
@BluffaloSam
@BluffaloSam 10 месяцев назад
I was thinking QQc was the most likely holding! Solid read though, that's my entire bluff range you figured out. I think I'd be around 50/50 between calling and folding River, almost anyone else I'd just snap fold, but I reckon you could definitely find some creative bluffs like that. A lot of fun playing with you!!

10:04 what tough spots is he gonna put you in anyways? You have the stone cold nuts lol. I really think this 2-5 game at your casino is really tough. I’ve played alot of 2-5 games and this one is definitely tougher than most. If i were you i'd stick with the 1-3 game you were playing (as you were consistently profitable there) or find a softer 2-5 game. At least until you have a bigger roll anyways. Either way nice win! Glad to see you book a win after the last few beatings. Also, glad you reduced your buy in to $1000. Smart move
@BluffaloSam
@BluffaloSam 10 месяцев назад
I meant if I alter my strategy here, in similar spots when I'm bluffing if he's paying attention he can reexploit me. I've almost always done a 1k buyin at 2/5. Sometimes if I'm down to $300 I'll just top up another $1,000 on top. I really like this 2/5 game, it's great practice for tougher bigger games. Hope to one day play higher than 5/10!

AA: Do you think a jam will make JThh fold here? Villain has 9 ❤outs, 5 2pr/trips outs, and 3 GSSD outs. That is 17 total outs. Villain needs 32% equity to call the jam and has nearly 37%. When you jam, you make it very likely that the only hands that call are those that are ahead (QJ/T9) or have plenty of EV to draw. Why not bet something like 40% pot and get called by hands like Qx, maybe Jx, some non-flush draw JTs/J9s/etc.? I think this was a polarization error. AsJh: Solver donks this flop with only 50% of range and slightly less with the Jh (slightly more with Ah). Solver also continues against this large bet 100% with Ah, 23% with Jh. I think you made the right play for this bet size, but don't forget to consider your overcards and BDFDs! JJ: I think you played the hand fine. After a bet and a call with a possible flush, you don't rate to be ahead of both ranges. I can see UTG2 betting with the Ac, but what do you expect BB to get to showdown with? Tx? That has to be the very bottom of his range, other than lone clubs. J4s: I agree that this was a polarization error. 99: I agree that this is a checkback on the flop. For her to be underbluffing, she'd have to bluff less than 28% of the time. That's how often you need to win against this bet size. As for bluffing hands, I'd think Ax would bluff less often than Kx or Qx, especially KJs and QJs, which both block likely Tx hands. I don't know the frequencies of people in your pool, but I am guessing they might play several of these hands as calls against a 3bet. Nice win! It's always fun when the cards cooperate.
@BluffaloSam
@BluffaloSam 10 месяцев назад
AA: He's the type that could call it off vs a jam with a flush draw just cuz he's in the mood to gamble, so I don't hate jamming here JJ: I'm mostly not happy with my Flop play, Turn is a pure fold I think. 99: yeah definitely needed to check back that flop

With the J4 hand, I think I do like your bet on the turn for $100 for a couple of reasons. Firstly, you won't get respect for hitting the overcard like you would if it was an A or K, so you can extract value from a wider range of weak holdings. Secondly, it means you retain the betting lead on the river and are unlikely to get lead in to. I would prefer to have a hand like JQ or JK in this scenario but you will almost always get to showdown without any more action
@BluffaloSam

If your BR is around 10k then 2/5 is too high to play sir. It’s just 20 Buyins which is not recommended. Conservative players say you need 50-100 Buyins not to play with scared money. Just saying 🙏🏼✌🏼
@BluffaloSam
@BluffaloSam 10 месяцев назад
Recommended by who, and why? I'm clearly not playing scared money, and I hate traditional BRM numbers pulled off Google. You should be aggressively shot taking to get to 5/10 as fast as reasonably possible. I can lose 7k in the roll and be totally comfortable building it back it up at 1/3.

Bro you are so results oriented like you akwats say I should fold this or that after the fact you kno you lost the hand but in real time if you are thinkin if folding a str8 with your 7 on the river when dia miss you are a knit. Even in the turn, the guy could have the hand he had or 8-9 dia a9 dia, a lot of hands that you beat. You can’t be folding a Str8 on river kuz your chopping 70% of time. And the fact your vlogging it ppl are going to play at you so more aggressively I kno I would pick you apart every time I’m in position knowing your playing so close to the belt. You as a blogger need to call lighter, be more aggressive and bluff knowing ppl have that perception of you. An example is Lex O he used to play like you and now he switched it up and is having his best year. Not hating bro jus telling you wat I see.
