A Friend of mine takes all the extension cords he cuts and puts them in 5 gallon water jugs. At the topping off party he’ll hold a raffle for the workers, maybe $50 nothing crazy. Adds a little fun and understanding !
Visuals are a classic! Cutting up those extension cords can tell all! Good job Mike. Common sense simple things to get the point across with BEST SQUAD!
BIG MIKE - I'm just a Photographer and Mom looking into the DOB on RU-vid & I have to tell you how much I love this video!!! You've made my day. Guys like you are what make RU-vid great and America Great and WORK Great. High Praises and Much Love. I'm so impressed
Make a difference, Knowledge is Power... Big Mike giving Priceless Information... I'm going to be seeing you soon on some projects... Concrete Grinding and Polishing #BigMike #Safety #OSHA #Motivation #BossUp #Success #NYNY #SupporttheReal #Worldwide #WeBuiltthisCity
@@haroldsuero7741 so I’m trying to become a QSP in nyc and I’m looking at getting the certificates that I need .osha 62,sst 40 hr training course, 32 hr scaffold, etc. how were u able to land a job afterwards? Did u work under a safety manager? I do have a few yrs of experience in construction but I’m not sure what else will be needed to get a job for a QSP
Big Mike- Great video. I'm a Site Safety Manager for Plaza Construction based out of NYC but branched out here in Miami. This is a great video, keep them up
You should take care of that in orientation. I want to see all equipment before it is brought to my site. If it is not in compliance, you don't work. I stop everything. Hands down! Besides if you have to cut that many cords then you have a bigger problem than that Mike. Good video if your working in New York. Solid Info.
The cords were from a 35 story building , and the concrete company was really low budget . The bad cords were everywhere , in fact a threw a lot more away . This is the way it goes sometimes , but that's why i kept the cords to show people . Thanks for watching . Mike Espo...
Hey Mike had another question if you don’t mind is there a test prep or study guide for the NYC site safety manager test ?? What’s the salary as of 2020 I’ve herd different number, there’s nothing posted on the NYCDOB site. Thks mike be safe keep up the good work.
No problem , i do know that when you take the 40 hour SSM course , the instructor will go over some area's of test , and should have practice questions . As far as the salary , it goes from 30 and up an hour , it all depends on your experience . Good luck . Mike
And can I confiscate defected body harness too! It will be great if you can mention all the things that can be confiscate on site! I always confiscate defected sling belt. Thank you big mike.
There are many items that can be confiscated on a site , to many to list, but i think i will do a new video soon and talk about the many items can should be taken off a site . Thanks Mike Espo.
Be careful your site management might get angry due to loss of labour down time and property damage and cost of replacing it with good one.....and start bullying & yelling on you.
The DOB are always hiring , well they were before the virus started . You should check the city website or inquire with the city , DOB needs a lot of inspectors , and in many different fields . A SSM needs 8 years or more with high rise experience , and a few more items , you should goggle S S Manager and see how many steps you need to be one . Good luck , Mike Espo..
As a SSM , you must take a 40 hour class to be a Site Safety Manager . Have 7 years experience in high rise building. And then take the NYC SSM test . Mike Espo .
You do have to take a 40 hour class before you take the city test . In Lic Queens , they have 2 good schools . Do not do a on line class as most of them the city of New York will not accept when you go to take your test . NYC will only tell you this one day before taking the test . Do you have 10 years of high rise experience ?
@@yehudastollak6808 Ok , one of the requirements you will need to be an SSM is 1o years of high rise building , you can go get you FSM card =Fire Safety Manager card, it is an easy test , and I am sure you know about a fire watch being around if you work on sites ? FSM are always needed in NYC . Mike .
@@yehudastollak6808 Ok , then that is a good place to start . Then one year from now , you can look into local law 11 , that is safety for scaffolding work , also very easy to get into .
I just got certified by NCCER for CSSO CSST and CSSS, I have been working on refineries for almost 8 years, but i would love to work in different areas, any recommendations, what industries should I try to apply to?
Mike Espo actually I don’t have it, i have Working experience overseas not in the USA and i am a foreigner not a US citizen, so what are my options to find a job?
First you must get OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training , then you can work on any site as a laborer in a starting position , many jobs also have starting positions but you will have to look for them in certain areas. Mike Espo..
DOB is the Department Of Buildings , and when you work in a construction site you cannot use damage electrical cords. Any cords that are broken or cut or have the ground taken off is unsafe and can cause damage to a person or start a fire. Thanks Mike Espo.
I run a construction company. I’m also a SSM but I don’t use my license. I love you SSM that dint know shit about construction. You spend your life cutting extension cords. You are way overpaid
DOB stands for The Department of Buildings . Best = Best squad , best squad was a team of 12 city inspectors who would go to sites and just write ✍️ violations for anything and everything, and mostly shut the job down . They don’t have that department anymore but they still shut down sites . Mike
