Sitka’s Mountain Hauler 6200 backpack First Look 

Hi again! The bag is detachable form the frame and it’s relatively easy to do. However, the bag does not need to detach from the frame to load meat into the system. The meat will directly attach to the frame via a pass through attachment. Removal of the bag would only be required to clean the bags in the event of soiling. Thanks for your questions.

Hey Hunter, thanks for checking out the video. The pack weighs less than 6 1/2 lbs, empty. It’s a very lightweight pack given the overall construction and size. Hope this helps, great question!

No release date yet, but stay tuned to North40hunt for that info. I personally haven’t used Kifaru packs, but I do have plenty of experience with Mystery Ranch. The Sitka Mountain Hauler would be comparable in size to the MR Marshall (6408 cu-in). Mystery Ranch offers the guide light frame and overload shelf technology on many of their packs, allowing the hunter to load meat close to the body. This not only allows the hunter to add to their pack capacity, but does so with as much comfort as possible. The new Sitka Mountain Hauler (6200 cu-in) was built by big game experts to do just what the name implies. When we were talking with John Barklow at the show it was really apparent that a lot of thought had gone into the small details for hauling meat. Everything from the stiff aluminum frame to the padding to the specialized straps to help hold antlers close to your body. Every part of this pack was designed to haul a heavy load for a long distance. If you’re looking at MR or Sitka packs you’re looking at some of the best. My advice would be to go to the nearest store and try them on & look them over in person to make your final decision. Both are great options and money well spent.
