Tom heads to Bozeman, MT, to share a location he discovered while driving on a Cobra tour the previous year. The owner was nice enough to hold off any changes to his collection so we could bring you along and show you his wild and eclectic taste. No matter your taste this man has it all, Steam Cars, Rotary, European sports cars, American Muscle, and even race cars. Sit back and enjoy one of Tom's favorite discoveries in the "Barn Find Hunter" series.

I'm 76 yrs. old and just came across your channel. Back in the 50's when we got our drivers license, our 1st. car was usually a hand me down from our parents. My buddy Lance wound up with a 4 door 57 Nash rambler. I could tell you a lot of stories about those fold down seats, especially at the drive-ins in Calif. but this may be a family channel. I'm real happy I came across your great videos. You'll be hearing a lot from me in the future! Thanks Man!

@howardkerr8174

I also used to say I've never met a car I didn't like....and then I started to really look hard at cars. Examples of cars I could take or leave? A 4 cylinder powered Tempo/Topaz, though if it was the rarer 2 door and/or had a manual transmission, then I might be interested. The 70s Chevy Monza Town Coupe is another, at least with the 4 cylinder engine and especially if it had the 4 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. I was surprised that this guy had never been "up close and personal" with any NSU. When I lived in Memphis there was a former dealer turned repair shop for German cars about a mile from my house. Around the outside of the main building were several old VW beetles and NSU sedans.

In 50yrs time the tech to hack into ecus will be so advanced and the education on the software on cars will be extensive enough so that it'll be as easy as this Nash to start and fix, we simpletons won't be as dumb in the future......plus there will be better ecus so we can hotrod modern cars

It will never happen again, I tell these kids, no more classics. They are built to be recycled now, which is good and we need that now but if you have classics, don't sell them.
@roeng1368
@roeng1368 5 лет назад
The reason i like classic stuff is, apart from ignition and lights they are purely mechanical. The idea of getting involved with computers, software, plugging in leads and all that crap is a complete turn off. Just look at the Nash, fuel, compression, sparks and it has life. It doesn't need anything else.

Just Fabulous. Sunbeam coupe, Ford AA truck, Early BMW 2002, NSU spider, Nash Wagon.. But that Stanley, WOW. I would be floored if he didn't have a dozen offers in the six figure area by the end of the day. The steam guys are a rare breed, they will rebuild an entire car around about 6 parts, just to save as many as they can. This looks to be one of the last Stanleys ever built, complete and truly in original condition. This is a Pebble Beach worthy car, and I expect we will be seeing more of it in the near future... May I recommend Tom go see Scott up @ColdWarMotors? He could be the Alberta branch of the show. His youtube channel is fabulous, but he is a bit "shy". I know he's got a bunch of cars stashed that we have never seen, maybe Tom can get him to open up. Between him, his agents, and all the vintage metal junkyards still operating up in Alberta, Scott can probably supply you with enough content for 6 months of shows, and Citroen Safari Wagon to drive around and hunt in. Thanks for the great content Hagerty.

Thank you! Woohoo! A red Alfa Romeo GTV6 was my first car. When I bought it, the dealership in Connecticut also had a Callaway twin-turbo GTV6. What a ride that was:-)

Crazy amazing eclectic collection - just sitting in the high grass - they look great but could be restored as well by passionate enthusiasts .

I would imagine they were cheap at the time, or had a mechanical issue that lead to the seller wanting rid of them.

My favorites were the Dodge Panel van and the Nash wagon. The Nash reminds me of the 58 Rambler American(a throwback model that anyone could afford) I had: 196 flathead which I believe is same as this wagon, 3 speed with overdrive - man that OD is worth it's weight in gold - quiet fast cruise, 25 mpg and shifts like an automatic!

I used to have a 76 Datsun 510 hatchback with a 1200 engine w/5 sp. I absolutely loved it and everyone I knew loved it too. 49.5 mpg highway Gotta love that!

Steam is very powerful and the torque is off the clock. There is double action which is a power stroke on each stroke. Gas or diesel 4 stroke has a power every 4th stroke.
