Today I made over the living room in the London flat, it's been on a journey for the last two years to fully transform it, but I'm glad it's finally done

Disco balls in the fireplace! I once lived in a place with an unused f.p., and I chose to place a huge, hanging piece of art///sculpture, over it. I loved it! But now that I see the disco balls ......!!!

I like the new look Hermione. I love cleaning. Murphy's oil soap for washing the wood, Howard's feed-n-wax for polishing and restoring the wood. Sprayway glass cleaner for washing the glass, mirrors, and polishing kitchen appliances. Barkeepers friend for polishing metals. Saddle soap for washing leather. Endust for baseboards, blinds and cabinets. For washing the bathroom it's Lysol power foam and Clorox bathroom cleaner with bleach. Finally, I freshen the rugs and carpet with 409 carpet spot and stain remover. I love it.

I love the disco ball fireplace sm, esp w the tile choice! why don't you add some sort of led strip inside the fireplace to bounce out some sparkle? I'm a sucker for mood lighting too, loved that final shot ✨

It looks lovey, very cosy, iv had a cream fire surround for several years and been unsure this year what colour to paint it but after seeing your charcoal one that will be the colour im doing it, thank you x😁

I think a round table would suit the room better and still seat 4. Also maybe do a photo ledge on the long wall above the table or do board and batton on the main wall. It's just to many white walls and to much stuff! ❤

Hmm... Not really a fan of the cluttered look. Talking the ottoman out would look better and some of the items like the magazine rack and the very chunky floor lamp. But of course it's your living space and if it makes you happy then good on you.

The place looks cozy and cute but you have too many tables in one small area. The TV stand, the two mismatched side tables and the coffee table seems like too much. I would use a set of two small/dainty side tables, mount the tv above the fire place (the tv on a stand next to it makes it look cluttered and takes away the focus from the fireplace that is so pretty) and maybe put the bar cart where the tv is right now, with the round mirror above it and maybe a hanging plant from the ceiling in the corner. Obviously, just my opinion, too many pieces of bulky furniture in small spaces don’t look right to me; but again, that could be just me.

Mounting a tv above the fireplace is the worst and most hideous idea. It's a bad height for viewing to begin with snd a television should never be a focus in the room. Yuk. That's my opinion

I agree, always feel like the tv should be centre. A TV on the side, straight staring at a corner of the room seems off and would strain my neck over time.

Using what you have can be a challenge but you always pull it off. I enjoy your ideas and your willing to be a bit brave in your decisions. Some like it stark and one way but you have a way to merge different styles into something that I want to come sit on your couch and just chill., Thanks much

If you put some of the books horizontally it will give a more dynamic look. Since you are in London maybe try an art class and study “the elements of design” Hope this move from island to metropolitan brings you many more wonderful adventures (just be safe)!!!

May I suggest painting the coffee table and the side table with the glass tops black? Might be cool and would make all your bright colorful pieces pop while remaining cohesive with the charcoal fireplace paint. Love your new London life, thanks for sharing 🥰✨🌈

Wow, the journey on this room is so cool to see. The result is so sophisticated :) Hey, have you thought about putting the main couch where the dinner table was, face the tv against the fireplace and the dining table beside the window? I just thought that might look a bit cute as it's a small space.

The sitting room looks really cozy and lovely, Hermione. ♥ Did you get a new couch? It looks a different style from your pink (or green) one. It's really nice, this one. Looks more comfy, TBH. I'm sure you will enjoy many cozy evenings in this room. I also love that you do not arrange your books by colour. By subject makes so much more sense. :D One thing that bothers me - you still have the tags on your smiley face cushion! ;) One of my pet peeves about cushions, along with the karate chop, is tags hanging out. LOL

You just need to paint the table and take off that orange coulour to may be a walnut? And definately tjose chairs have to be sold. You neec midcentury type chairs. All the best! 👏👏👏👏❤❤❤

💐Yesss! Always enjoy Hermione, and her creativity (esp. the challenge of having to consider 👩‍🦳Grandma's preferences & cleverly reuse♻️ some of her prized possessions). 🖤 Black would definitely give a sexy industrial loft feel to that spectacular picture window. It would also act as a frame to that amazing exterior view 🪟 too. 🤍Am a major fan of white walls, but feel like the room needs a bit more black to make sense of the leather chair and ⚖️balance the visual weight of that darkly dramatic fireplace. Her tiny makeover truly freshened that vignette up. The simple, but bold black framed round mirror (👩‍🍳💋) mixed w/the black & rosey pink accessories brought some modernity to that old world charmer. The plethora of sparkly mirrored balls spilling out gives a satisfying glimpse of 💎girly glam💎. It was exactly the surprise of whimsy it needed. 💙Loved the 🆕 art above the sofa, but think those chunky square frames would be absolutely stunning in black too. 🤔Mixing warm & cool tones of white is tricky. The off-white can seem dinghy compared w/crisp color, but she manages to pull those disparate pieces off. 👍Did like the two-tone gray throw on the couch & how the darker tone also communicated w/the fireplace. The 🆕 velvety pillows are pretty & are similar to the 🆕 candles on the mantle. 🙂Did feel that the lavender pillows played well with the gray couch & also brought out the color in the right art print all the more. 🧐Now, the 🆕 area rug topper enhances the left art print. It also shows ties to Hermione's pops of passion pink peppered about the flat. 😱Of course, my mobile📲 might be perverting all those colors, so plz take all my color coordination thoughts w/a grain of salt🧂. Just love it when color draws my gaze around a space, & makes it all cohesive. Would also 🖌️paint that dated light veneer on the glass topped coffee table in gray or black. Find the finishes on the TV console & other tables are far more agreeably 🪵earthy toned, but I know she had to make do. 😉 Do love the vintage black 👤 bust on the round table next to the sofa, and also the other black bust 👤 on the TV stand. Gotta keep my eyes👀 out for similar statuary! 🍊 Her adding that XL colorful canvas above the D/R table gave this petite tableau the presence & weight it had been lacking before. 😃Such a simple, but striking change makes it a desirable destination vs some sad 😔afterthought. 💯% vibe with her 🆒 eclectic taste! 💚 Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Great job love it ! And your so right about the wildlife my daughter had flat in Peckham and out window one morning saw a dozen parrots 2 woodpeckers 2 foxes and 4 squirrels! I live in wilds Lincolnshire lucky if I see odd rabbit!

Don’t listen to those who are saying it’s too crowded. You are using what you have, you can’t throw everything out, and you have gone way down in space from your island house! I like it very much. Now....on to the kitchen , the bathroom, the hall(is there a hall?!)......and in Spring, the garden! Enjoy your cozy new room! ☕️ 📚 📺

I have a deep dislike, bordering hatred, for books ordered by colour. Or turning them so you can't see the cover. My bookshelves are the academic "aesthetic" - arranged by subject and age of the original material. Colour and size means NOTHING lol. I have extras piled on top, some stored sideways. I love it. It is what bookshelves are meant to look like.

In my previous flat I had an arch and I hung like 9? disco balls of different sizes. Loved when the South light bounced on them.

Love the prints above the sofa. Fireplace is good too. You must have a couple curtains stashed in a box - would look lovely on that huge window. Cozy with the lights on.

Nice! I would actually push the table against the wall (not under the bookshelves but the other wall next to it) and just maybe two chairs, to open up more space and then get rid of the little table next to the TV table and chair, it's too cluttered back there. I'd probably get rid of the light fabric ottoman as well. Love it otherwise!

looks cute, especially the balls in the fireplace....i'm not crazy about the square coffee table, it's so big, a round table would break up all the squares and rectangles going on and tie in with the round balls...but that table is your grandma's and you just can't chuck it......the white ottoman, table and chair is a runway of squares, at least to me, but it is your place and if you are happy that is all that matters.

The room looks homey and very cozy. I like that you didn't add curtains. The view of your Nan's garden is nice. Speaking of the garden when you jump and screamed. I would have thought you'd seen an anaconda instead of the fox. I hope your Nan cones to visit. She's lovey and adds something extra to your videos.

If you wanted to change up your dining area, you could put one long side against the wall with the painting and have a chair on each end and two chairs on the side not against the wall. It might give you a little more walking space in your sitting room/living room/den

such a lovely, simple and cozy space you created for yourself. really liked it. gave so many ideas, as usual, to us. and I want to thank you, especially for the nighttime shots. designers/RU-vidrs must include these shots in their videos. i am glad you did so, finally. people like drew and macenna (I love her... ❤️) should start doing the same (it is not that I haven't asked them earlier... but they don't listen... lol). looking forward to more videos. the new style videos are absolutely fun to watch.
