@@acelarson1872 I am familiar with the use of backing tracks. Not sure about this one. What makes you think he's using a backing track? Doesn't sound like it. Robert flubs too many lyrics to be able to use a backing track... Jason Cooper, maybe uses them.
So many people don't understand my love of the cure, the musicality is epic and Roberts voice has unique depth and interpretation of every lyric. You don't just listen, you're in it with him
I saw them finally on June 8 in St. Paul and I was in tears the whole time. It's been a forty year love of mine and I was so happy. Robert Smith just amazes me. That voice ❤
I was there with my mom As a kid I grew up listening to the cure , because my mom loved them . She was born In 75’ , i was born in 02’ . It was spectacular seing him live , his voice is amazing
He's just the best!!!!!!! There's no one on earth quite like him. His voice is still crystal clear and unchanging and it's so cool to watch him just enjoying his music. And I've always loved that song. Wow...10 out of 10. A true legend! I'll always love The Cure!
I love this song, so heartfelt 😊. The kid in me awakens. Robert and the chaps truly stand the test of time. You most definitely captured a great moment and a perfect spot at that! I hope they will tour again ❤.
First things I've noticed with the live footage is they all look great and Robert's voice is still spot on. It's incredible. Bummed they're not coming near me. Was also bummed that Plainsong isn't in the set.
We got Plainsong along with Disintegration, Fascination Street, Prayers for Rain, and Lullaby in the Columbia, MD show on 6/25. I was happier than a pig in slop. They sounded amazing.
Robert's voice gives me chills. He has one of the most recognizable voices of the Rock Era imo. I want to hear him sing Other Voices, but I doubt they perform that early track anymore.

His voice has defied the laws of aging! He is like a huge teddy bear, i want to cuddle 6 different ways XD . Thanks for sharing this great piece of digital entertainment that brightened my Monday morning like a disco ball on a Sat night

God, I love this man!!!!! I saw them in St Paul, MN on 6/8 and to say I'm still in love with The Cure, especially my boyfriend Simon, is an understatement. My husband gets it! 🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I can wager a couple of guesses. Siouxsie’s “normal” singing range is lower than Robert’s, so she’s always going to sound lower than Robert. Secondly, Siouxsie is a little older than RS, so her vocal changes had a little more time to develop Women’s and Men’s vocal changes affect them differently, at least from what I can see. If you compare both of their singing styles, Siouxsie puts more heart into what she sings, more effort I guess would be the better word for it. The way Robert sings, it’s seemingly very effortless for him. Robert’s singing voice is not that far away from his regular speaking voice, if that makes any sense. So the wear and tear would be much less. To break it down into automobile terms, Siouxsie was working with city miles and Robert’s got highway miles on his voice, lol The last one, and this is a biggie, I don’t know when (or if) Siouxsie stopped smoking cigarettes. That alone will mess up your vocal range over time. To my knowledge, I don’t think Robert ever got into smoking full-on. I think there’s a few pictures out there of him smoking very early on (1979-1980) but once The Cure became a bonafide thing that was gonna last more than a couple of albums, I think RS wisely cut that habit out. Just my thoughts and opinions on it!
Damn you age! Hes totally got Jello Biafra aka #CoolDad* bod. Please dont anyone actually start #tagging# "cool dad bod"...this shits about the MUSIC..NOT the bod. Keep keepin on!! 🙌♥️
Robert loves to dance since i saw him very first time at the cure in orange in France. Yes i am old like the guy from standing on the beach album cover😂😂😂
Roberts a legend, great voice and character since the 70s. Image wise he even stood out from Siouxsie when he was in the Banshees way back in the early 80s. But I just don’t get his stage getup anymore, his hair, the makeup, the elderly gran look etc… not gonna lie it looks quite disastrous for a man of his, talent stature and fame. It’s Roberts look some will say, like that should blind us to how damn awful he looks as he ages😂 🤣
Wow, that's a hideous thing to say, backhanded compliments. Consider that as an artist he might be embracing how time and unknown circumstances might have done a good job attacking our physical body but his essence and angelic voice remain...as do sickness, accidents, sorrows, life can make us a shadow so how f**cking brave to give us this and chance enduring the slings and arrows of people like yourself...many artists like Bosch for example created hellish vistas of the grotesque, ergo his classic smeary lipstick, darkened eyes, disheveled hair was a statement back in the day, but even more so now for those of us who can see him through an artist's lens. So... what monumental artistic and cultural contributions will*you* remembered for? I'm sure the world is waiting to love and embrace you for who you are too.
@@lisaparkhill682 Just my view, it’s not a backhander compliment either. I’ve got a great deal of admiration and respect for Robert, but it doesn’t mean that I have to agree with his every decision. I’m of his generation, he’s a lot more practical and level headed than many give him credit for. If I see something that doesn’t looks right, or makes me cringe a bit I speak my mind, good or bad, I’m like that, he’s also like that (must be something in our Northern roots perhaps 😉) He even took a swipe at his hero David Bowie for Heavens sake for making crap music since 1982, very Northern funnily enough. He never explained his reasons for wearing make-up the way you have, your take on that is totally wrong. You made up that artistic expressionist stuff because it probably sits well with your fanciful ‘hero worship’ imaginings of him, or perhaps you’re so used to his trademark image that you’d feel abandoned and betrayed by him without it. If you look up how Robert got started and why he still wears makeup he explains succinctly how he flips about a little bit between early experimentation since he was a kid and the strong practical reasoning behind it as he rose to fame with the Banshees. He never ever said or suggested anything of artistic merit on that subject like how you put it. I only disagreed with his continuing to wear makeup as IMO it no longer fulfils the remit of covering his ‘ill defined features’ - to quote Robert himself. It’s clear that you didn’t know anything about his makeup choices and reasons judging from your angry and misaligned response.
@@arcticlight232 I know he's a fucking musician, and I truly think he's brilliant, as are the other musicians that make up the band, and I've known this since 1979. And I won't look at him any further, great advice... but it's hard not to, like a bad car accident, you know you shouldn't look but can't help but looking... long in the tooth, odd, and disturbing to witness in 2023 , Mr. Smith is.
They still sound soooo good but Robert really needs to give up the look. He kinda looks like a deranged clown, but man I still love him and he still has it musically
Just love this song, he was in such an amazing mood too. I see those classic Robert Smith moves. Makes my heart happy for them. The Cure will always have a sense of going to a lovely world of epic music and bliss. ❤
Robert Smith is a living legend. He is such a force. Those people mentioning his weight are vapid, jealous, little people. The Cure's music and art are timeless. I am glad he is still out there having fun! His voice is so calming to me. I will love him forever!!
