Here is a very beginner friendly yet crushingly heavy song from Florida’s Six Feet Under. I have been on a major SFU binge lately, so expect some more soon.
I believe this song was triple tracked, so in my quest for perfection, I did too. Two guitars panned hard right / hard left with a third guitar panned 20% left kicking in after the first 8 bars for absolute brutality!

An easy riff by most death metal standards, but it's the intervals between the chords that give it its heaviness and spookiness. That intro for example, you have the half-step interval between E & F and then the minor 3rd interval between the F and G#. Layer Chris's vocals on top of it all, and it sounds like the perfect soundtrack to witnessing someone transform into a werewolf!

Six Feet Under were never a technical band but I feel like Chris wanting to go to a barebone DM setup without the "technical wankery' gave birth to a straight to the point album that's just hella catchy and groovy, kinda like Bolt Thrower.

More badass playing !! Dig it !! That Charvel is sharp too! I just picked up a Jackson Kelly , still trying to figure out my first Floyd setup but seems like it’ll be a killer guitar!

Thanks a lot my man! Yeah she is a ripper but she feels like a homemade guitar (which she is), not as well setup as I'd wish. Beautiful purchase man, I would have loved to get one to play so Marty Friedman era Megadeth!

I don't understand how to play this at all, it seems simple enough, but I can't understand the odd timing of the riffs.

Hey man, the best advice I can give you is to play slowly and count at the same time like 1 & - & 3 - 4 & etc. The silences fall on 2 and on the & between 3 & 4. Once you get a feel of the groove, it'll become a second nature. Otherwise pla in eight notes until you get the rhythm then play it with 16th notes.

Nah man don't give up! Because once you know how to do it once, it will make learning other songs much easier too!

@@TbombGuitar thanks, but I unfortunately I didn't understand that advice, since I only started learning like half a year ago or something. So I guess I'm still grasping the concept of musical steps like 4-4 and what have you. My brain really dislikes when things are not straight forward. Anyway I have other songs to try and play, but unfortunately this one is a skip, it brings me frustration that just makes me want to stop playing in general.
