Hawkvandelay!! Also, I must have missed you at SFGAm yesterday! I think everything you said 3:58-4:27 was spot on. There is SO much work to do to get all of the parks on the same page. Six Flags parks need a lot of upgrades to their infrastructure. Changes will not be happening overnight. That said, as another SFGAm local, I’m pretty excited. Worst case scenario, I don’t think things can get worse from where they are right now, which is great. I think the smaller Six Flags parks will see the biggest improvement (if they don’t get sold). I’ve secretly wanted SFGAm under a different company for years, and now we have that (kinda), which is crazy!! Still can’t believe it!

I hope that this means that Great America will get theming finally! I need it to be one the same scale as Knott's or maybe even Disney, just like the Marriott days. On top of that, YES! I hope both Great Americas collab, and CGA gets the Looney Tunes back

I hope Six Flags Great America now gets to receive the best parts of what California's Great America will be losing when that park shuts down. Think of all the spare parts our old sister park could provide...

I really hope this means that scream break will be included for Cedar fair Parks.

I think this will be awesome for many parks in the chain! I am worried though for the very small six flags parks.

There is another wrinkle to the universal pass idea. Not all of Six Flag's parks are actually owned by Six Flags. Six Flags Darien Lake (and I think another one too) is run by Six Flags, but it is not owned by Six Flags.

I think the new slogan for Six Flags should be “The best of both worlds”

The should take that single red flag and layer 5 flags over it each different colors and getting smaller in scale. There fixed it, total of six flags in the logo.

Mergers are for cost cutting and eliminating competition. Hope for updates but fear the parks close to each other are in trouble.

I have been trying to be optimistic about this...but it is difficult. I love roller coasters and amusement parks and I know that what incentivizes most of the best rides/attractions is competition with other parks. The competition has now been severely reduced. Yes there is still Universal, Disney, Busch Gardens and Sea World but most of those parks are in two states. It is all the other parks I am worried about. So losing entire parks might be happening, but the more immediate worry is losing classic roller coasters faster than we would have if the companies had not merged. There are so many parks and rides under control of this company that I'm sure they will quickly want to cut corners with maintenance costs and remove old roller coasters to simplify the running of the company (not only financially but logistically). Please DO NOT remove any more classic Arrow or Schwarzkopf coasters just because you guys want to save SOME money in the short term. The smarter move would be to refurbish these old rides gradually, and open them as new coasters to the public in the future. That way the GP crowd is happy, the nostalgic crowd is happy and the enthusiast crowd is happy and it will cost you guys FAR less money than building a large-scale new roller coaster. In terms of new additions to these parks under the company, how about we FINALLY add some damn dark rides to these parks (and not themed after superheroes)? We don't need to expand the water parks. They are all huge. They're fine. Nor do we need a ton of cloned flat rides. Most of these parks are good on flat rides as well. I think nearly every visitor to these parks would agree that waiting an extra year or two for a new roller coaster or large dark ride would be preferrable to more water slides and flat rides. So don't remove classic coasters, save the money on purchasing new flat rides and water slides and allocate it to larger new coaster and dark ride investments and there you go...all of these parks would be improved and nearly everyone would love the new company. Will any of that actually happen? I doubt it.

I'm not a fan of iroc (International Ride Operator Certification) or seatbelts on rides like Raging Bull (Diamondback and Orion have them down at Kings Island) as long as those are removed, I'll be fairly happy but I am still wondering about my legacy membership.

They really need to have one pass for everything. That will be awesome. Even next year might be too soon for that to happen though. 2026 seems more realistic.

This is going to be a disaster. They will sell and or close several parks. The company cannot sustain these many parks. The Cedar Fair shareholders did NOT want this merger for a reason. I hope Hershend buys Cedar Point and keeps its legacy

I doubt any of the parks will close, ca great america excluded, but i do see them selling some. I doubt they got this merger through the justice department for approval without concessions.
