Both of your current channels might not be world-beating in terms of viewer numbers, but are both valuable to your subscribers, Matt. Hopefully, you figure out how to find the time and inclination to launch a travel channel. Great stuff, all. Cheers.
Food for thought - take videos and pics and stitch them together with a voiceover summary of your stay and experiences in each place - May make it a little less cringy for you.

I’m burned out on eBay. The promoted listings, and now social media ads is taking more profits from us small sellers. I wanted to see more travel vlogs.
I will say that Mexican culture embraces anyone trying to speak Spanish. I studied abroad there and it was so easy to pick it up (although I did have a background in school). Contrast that with the Philippines (I’m Filipino American) and it’s so difficult to learn it as the culture dictates it’s ok to laugh at anyone struggling to learn and practice it.
I enjoyed Mexico. I've been there a couple of times, only went to the tourist cities but would love to spend some time in some of the smaller cities. Enjoy your time with family and good luck in Asia. I recommend thailand. I spent a winter out there, LOVED it. :)

Hey Matt. My Filipina wife suggests her homeland, Philippines. Lot of vloggers’ destinations, lot of viewers of their channels. It’s cheap, lots of English spoken and/ or understood.. like Mx, lotta destitute turd-world places but lots of beauty. Being a vegetarian I miss out on their halo dishes but normal people rave about their food. Careful w/ the water as well, bottled only, or til you get used to the microscopic bad-guys that’ll have you in a contorted fetal position.
People speak English and are open to vloggers so you should feel less self conscious with a camera too. I think you will feel really welcome by the locals. You look really good and much healthier now!
Maybe name your new channel with your first name, like Just Me "your name" that way you are not having to do a niche and most the people that follow you follow I think because you express yourself well and are interesting. I subscribed because I was trying to sell on eBay, but I stayed because I am interested in your opinion about stuff. I subscribed your other channel because you give such amazing reviews, .. You make me want to read. If I was a teacher, I would have my students watching your channel. I think you should market yourself to high schools and create an online class. Or market yourself to homeschooling parents. You have a gift.

You answered a question I was wondering in this video and that was - what is your level of spanish speaking. I gather the answer is low. The other thing I wondered was did you try to used any technology to help communicate like showing people words on your phone or having your phone translate phrases. I'm thinking these tools are getting better and making it possible(probably still not easy) to communicate with folks whose language is different. It does make sense to put travel stuff on a different new channel.
I like your non thrifting videos better at this point. I definitely think there is a market for your lifestyle ( for lack of a better word) videos. For Asia, I’d recommend starting in Thailand. It is the easiest country to get introduced to Asian travel. Good luck.

When I solo hiked the Pacific Crest Trail across the states of California, Oregon and Washington in two 3 month spurts in 2020 and 2021 it was so hard to leave that simplistic lifestyle and re-enter the world of wage slavery. I've liked watching all the videos you've put out since this transition, but I think it would have been off-putting if you actually enjoyed vlogging to us resellers on RU-vid about your travels. Wishing you the best in your next steps, Matt. I would love to see some of what you are comfortable sharing about your upcoming travels to Asia. I hope you get out in some nice hikes, if that's something you're interested in doing
Wow ok nice adventure , glad you got to be there for 6 months. Time for Asia ! 🎉 I went to Japan for a month when I was 15 . It was fun to see a totally different lifestyle and environment.

I just watched your video about quick flipping from 2 years ago. It was good to know how you thought out or processed your business model of quick flipping. I also enjoyed the fish analogy story. Could you do a video on your thinking/thought processes for dealing with offers? Sometimes I accept an offer and sometimes I am willing to wait (and then I'm sorry later). I’m currently vacationing in Thailand and you’re not allowed to flush toilet paper here too! You use the bum gun aka ass sprayer to clean off the bits and toilet paper is used to dry off. I prefer the bum gun over toilet paper because it leaves your ass minty fresh!
Old pipes and bad septic. Most places in Mexico don’t want you to flush paper and it’s been a cultural no-no for as long as I can remember. Even while most modern buildings in the bigger cities, it’s really not an issue. But people still don’t flush it. I do.
Being a chef in California, there were people at my work (a Michelin-star restaurant) who weren't flushing toilet paper. For the longest time I thought it was an F.U. to the job, but only later did I discover it was cultural.
It’s because of the pipes in Mexico. Supposedly. Though in most large cities it’s not really necessary anymore. If they’re doing it at a restaurant job in the US someone should explain to them they don’t have to - tbh it’s not very sanitary overall.
Sup Matt if you are considering Asia how about going to South Korea? As a Korean American I know there is a good demand for good English speaking tutors and teachers in Korea. I have personal friend that moved to Korea to become an English teacher and he’s never looked back. Country is very modern, night life is second to none, food and people are great.
