Wow so fun! I had no idea how much St Pete decorated for Christmas! Looks like they really go all out. Never would have thought about going there during Christmas time, but I might have to put it on the list!
I love all of the Christmas displays and lights. It's definitely my favourite time of year and I have always wanted to go somewhere warmer to experience a Christmas season. When you say the weather is cooling down, what is "cool" there? I'd love to try some of the holiday themed cocktails, and skating always looks fun - I'm just always afraid I'll fall and break a bone.
Cooling down here means highs in the 60s and 70s, lows in the 50s generally, but it can get a bit cooler. It's really a great time of year to be outdoors down here from now through April or so. We tried the spiced egg nog last year and it was delicious. We're excited to try something different this year though. Skylar was quite nervous about getting injured while skating too (or worse, injuring someone else). But thankfully, he didn't fall or run down any children!😄
We always try to plan a getaway just after Christmas. We selected San Antonio this year as they still keep up Christmas displays the week after Christmas. Adding St. Petersburg to our December 2022 options - high on the list now.
While it's a bit different than the Christmas experiences we grew up with in the midwest, we do love Christmas time here in St. Pete, and we're sure you would as well! We hope you get a chance to experience it.
Wow, all the Christmas displays here are amazing but did particular like the black sky and all the pretty stars. You guys certainly go all out and not sure we have something this massive here in Australia. We have Xmas lights displays and fireworks to go and see, but probably a little too hot here fore Ice skating ( except in the few inside rinks that are permanently installed). Children go nuts for this kid of stuff, but such a happy time of year for the adults too. .... I bet you enjoyed running around and getting this footage :)
Yeah the black sky was a really cool addition this year and really added to the display. We figured it was too hot for outdoor ice-skating here in Florida too, as it's still not uncommon to hit 80 degrees here this time of year. But it is really nice being able to ice-skate without having to bundle up. Although the extra clothing does help to absorb the falls!
We're so glad to hear you enjoy them! Most of the pools at the resorts are heated in the winter, so you should be able to swim in them. Some people (mainly vacationers from up north) will swim in the gulf this time of year. We'll jump in quick to cool down on a warm day, but we don't usually start swimming in the gulf until March or so.
oh wow, that model village was so good! Great effort 😄 That huge display near the end of the video was pretty incredible. I also love that you guys have Christmas flamingos and Santa on a jet ski.
We are always impressed by the model village as well. I couldn't even imagine trying to set that all up! And yeah, they do a great job of keeping the Christmas decorations a bit tropical here in St Pete!
Lovely video guys! All xmas recommendations look great. Have you ever tried mulled wine? I think is not very popular in the states (probably you can buy it on amazon) , but honestly if you didn’t have a chance to try it, I would recommend to do so. It’s very tasty and christmassy. 🎄🍷🍷🍷🍷🎄🎅🏻
Thanks, JC. We have never heard of mulled wine, but would gladly give it a try! We have a liquor store here that has stuff from all over the world, so I'm guessing we could find some there. We'll keep an eye out for it next time we drop by!

Yeah, it took us a while to get used to Christmas in Florida, but it has definitely grown on us. Now I'm not even sure it would feel like Christmas without a flamingo and a jet-skiing Santa 😂
So much Christmas! It’s our favourite time of the year! Looks like there are enough displays to visit every weekend in December 🤗 The Enchanted experience looks so magical, and love all the lights at Oakdale. But an ice rink so close to the beach...so cool!
The Oakdale house is pretty insane. I can't even imagine how long it would take to set up all those lights. The ice skating on the beach was definitely a first for us, but we both really enjoyed it. I mean, everything is better on the beach, right?!

¿Qué tipo de comida/ambiente buscan usted y su esposa, Jorge? Hay muchos excelentes restaurantes alrededor de St. Pete en los que estoy seguro de que podría obtener una reserva, pero sería útil saber qué tipo de lugar está buscando.
@@Explorcation Somos un matrimonio de 50 años con una hija adolecente de 20 años, ambiente familiar, comida tradicional, nada especial. Somos gente común , ambos docentes Universitarios, y mi hija estudiante. Gente común que en lugares muy exclusivos se siente algo incómoda. Desde aquí he reservado varias veces a través de opentable, pero muchas veces toman la reserva sin considerar al 31 de diciembre como una fecha especial, y luego se presentan las dificultades, Como a través de tus videos es que nosotros decidimos ir a St. Pete, se nos ocurrió que serías muy buena consejera. Eres muy amable en respondernos
This is just fantastic! This whole list celebrating Wedee because he was born on Christmas! So cool that you put the video together from footage from the years. How do you guys organize all your content? At first we thought this list wasn't made by you until we saw the booze. Then YES! HAHA. That ice skating rink is pretty cool and near the water, but I would say best of all is just looking forward to spending this time of experience with friends and family
Ohh that's so cool that Wedee is a Christmas baby! I wish we could say we have a great organization system. It's better than it was, but still a work in progress. We keep all of our newer content on one external hard, and all of our older content on a couple of other external hard drives. We just got a new 14 TB external hard drive on Black Friday though, which will allow us to back up all of our footage in a single spot! We have to admit that Florida Christmas's have grown on us, but they'll never be the same as midwest Christmas's as that will always be where most of the family is!
