Strong oral hygiene habits are key to preventing tooth decay. Brushing your teeth twice daily with a toothpaste that strengthens enamel is essential. Look for toothpastes containing calcium, phosphate, or xylitol, which can aid in remineralization, the natural process of repairing minor tooth damage. Flossing once a day removes food particles and plaque from between teeth, areas inaccessible to brushing. Dietary choices play a significant role in oral health. Limiting sugary drinks and snacks minimizes the food source for plaque bacteria that produce cavity-causing acids. Finally, regular dental checkups and cleanings allow your dentist to professionally assess your oral health and intervene if any cavities are found.
several vitamins and minerals play a crucial role in maintaining strong teeth and promoting remineralization, the natural process of repairing minor tooth decay.
Here are some essential nutrients for healthy teeth:
Calcium: The building block of strong teeth and bones, calcium is vital for maintaining enamel density. Dairy products, leafy green vegetables, canned fish with bones (sardines, salmon) and tofu are all excellent sources of calcium.
Vitamin D: Essential for calcium absorption, Vitamin D helps your body utilize calcium for bone and tooth mineralization. Fatty fish, egg yolks, and mushrooms are good dietary sources of Vitamin D. Sunlight exposure can also aid Vitamin D production, but consult your doctor about safe sun exposure practices.
Vitamin K2: Vitamin K2 works alongside Vitamin D to direct calcium to your teeth and bones. Natto (a fermented soybean dish), grass-fed butter, and cheeses are high in Vitamin K2.
Phosphorus: Another mineral crucial for healthy teeth, phosphorus works with calcium for enamel strength. Lean meats, poultry, fish, nuts, and dairy products are all good sources of phosphorus.
Vitamin A: Plays a role in tooth enamel development and keeps gums healthy. Sweet potatoes, carrots, cantaloupe, and broccoli are all rich in Vitamin A.
Vitamin A
It's important to note that supplements should not replace a balanced diet. Speak with your doctor before taking any supplements to ensure they are right for you and don't interfere with any medications you are currently taking.

Doctor is it good to brush your teeth 3 times a days??do I have to use mouth wash?? then what is the best brand?
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 5 месяцев назад
If you can brush after each meal, that's great so long as you wait 30 minutes after eating before you do. You don't have to use mouthwash but if you do then choose one that is alcohol-free and as natural as possible. Something like Ecodent or Gem ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_nmlazAIRAo.html&ab_channel=EvolveDentalHealing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SeA4ioJgSHU.html&ab_channel=EvolveDentalHealing

@@EvolveDentalHealing Instead of mouth wash can I use salt water? Thanx Doctor
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 5 месяцев назад
@@annephilipiah1455 what is your goal with the mouthwash or salt water? Reduce bacteria, improve gum health, reduce cavity risk, freshen breath, better oral microbiome?
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 5 месяцев назад
Salt mouthwash Reduces bacteria: Salt creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria in your mouth by dehydrating them through osmosis. This can help reduce bad breath and the risk of developing cavities and gum disease. Promotes healing: Salt water has mild anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce swelling and discomfort from mouth sores, canker sores, and irritated gums. It can also aid healing after dental procedures. Freshens breath: Salt water rinse can help temporarily neutralize mouth odours caused by bacteria and food particles. To make a saltwater rinse: Mix half a teaspoon of table salt into a glass of warm water. Swish thoroughly for 30 seconds, then spit.

Thank you. This has been a very helpful discussion. I’d like to ask What form of magnesium you recommend? And also, Can you recommend a supplier for the oral probiotics in the US?

Magnesium citrate is a more common choice if you want to maintain magnesium levels for general whole-body health. This podcast goes into the different types of probiotic strains you need to look for ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3jHmfSDJC_k.html&ab_channel=EvolveDentalHealing

But what do you mean by oral probiotics? Something that you would chew on? I’ve never heard of this. Of course I’ve heard of probiotics that you would take in capsule form or powder form. So what are you referring to exactly?

yes you chew on them or suck them they are designed to repopulate your mouth with the sort of bacteria that promote good oral health

My dentist wants to cap my four front teeth…..is this a good idea?
@EvolveDentalHealing

it depends on why they are recommending it and what you mean by cap. By cap do you mean placing filings over or doing a crown?

@@dianemyers250 then I would agree they need something stronger to help stop tooth fractures. I would be more inclined to veneer front teeth these days to preserve as much of the roof of the mouth side enamel as possible as this makes the tooth more rigid

salt can help to improve gum health but not for tooth decay. Brushing with it can erode and wear your enamel

I wouldn't necessarily brush with it as it can be too abrasive but you can use it as a mouth wash in some warm water

There is a dentist on social media promoting her mouth care system. You can find her using those words. I'm having a problem with her one cure fits all approach. She stands firm on thinking Listerine only kills bad bacteria and not the good. She claims coconut oil is stronger than Listerine and kills too much bacteria. I don't see how that is possible. She recommends starting with Closys mouthwash (this is intended for use after brushing but she insists on using it before) then medium firm toothbrushing with Crest regular paste (it's rathe abrasive) followed by Listerine cool mint or the original one then followed with ACT zero mouthwash. She claims it will heal all your teeth doing this 2x a day plus xylitol after every meal. She doesn't recommend flossing because she says Listerine does the job better. I feel this brushing routine could damage the muscosol lining in the mouth. Am I correct on that? I diluted the Listerine and abandoned the toothpaste for a good nano hydroxyapatite paste, use a softer toothbrush and take an oral supplement. I use xylitol like crazy, take my vitamins and eat better too. Using my method I watched the start of decay on a tooth disappear. I'd love to hear your thoughts on mouthwash and flossing. I'm confused on whether I should continue with Listerine followed by the fluoride mouthwash ACT.

I am aware of this method and while I agree with some aspects, there are others that I too question. The issue for me is if you want to take a more natural, holistic approach many of the products you speak of contain chemicals that can be detrimental to overall health and the tissues in your mouth. If our goal is only to reverse tooth decay and not worry about the potential impacts of the constituents in the products then yes this works. I offer a holistic route and thus would lean more towards natural mouthwash, kinds of toothpaste etc. Flossing is not essential if you can clean between your teeth with interproximal brushes or a water flosser. Recently I have shifted my stance on the firmness of toothbrushes and have switched from an ultra-soft to a medium to experiment with the advice this person gives. My healthy gums were quite sore at first but over a few days using the brush are a better colour and texture. So yes massaging the gums does work but you need to start gently and build up. I think toothbrushes have become too soft to achieve this result. Like all advice - there is no one size fits all - and you need to do your research and try what works for you. I don't like Listerine, I think it is too harsh and has alcohol in it which is a risk for oral cancer, dries your mouth out and harms your microbiome, it also has saccharin and fluoride. My approach is to work from both ends of the issue - 1. why you are getting problems and address that with diet, supplements and lifestyle changes and 2. Ways to reduce plaque and tartar, remineralise teeth. And to do it naturally without, harsh chemicals or toxins. With coconut oil, if you do it for more than a couple of minutes you can harm the microbiome too so be mindful of that. I hope this helps and thank you for raising some great questions. I did wonder if I should do a video on this but worry her fans will see it as me having a go at her when it would be what I agree with and why, what I question and why, and what I don't agree with and why. What do you think?

@@EvolveDentalHealing I would be very interested in a video like this. I think if you were to not label it as a response to her mouth care system, and just label it as holistic products for dental health. There are many people who do not want to use fluoride or alcohol or SLS or artificial colors/flavors, so there would be many people interested in a video of this kind. Perhaps you could let us know the types of products that you use though we are located all over the world and we have to Find what is available for us where we are located. But I have many questions myself, I’m wondering if it makes sense to use a xylitol toothpaste and or xylitol mouthwash? Also there are other things that I understand are good for dental health like aloe vera juice, and perhaps some essential oils or formulas that contain ease. So yes please please please
