Great advice Jim. Although in my years of cigar enjoyment I have never been able to afford a box of anything in a single purchase! I am always so envious of the prices there in the US! Thanks for the channel.

Thanks for the comment. As as cigar smoker, I appreciate the selection and prices we have in the US. A lot of people don't understand how expensive cigars are in Canada, Europe, etc.

Great info, my rules are similar, I only order long filler cigars, i order 5 packs to try new blends, and ones that i love, I buy boxes. I spend a couple of hours a week researching to find deals and always wait overnight before placing my order. I also smoke a couple of cigars a day and try to keep 200 cigars on hand at all times with a different veriaty. I mostly look for top shelf name brand cigars in Torpedo size, but that's my preference. I always try and keep my price per stick around the $5 mark. You can find amazing deals if you're willing to put in the time, for example, 20 Rocky Patel Sixty Toro for $99 or 20 Cohiba Red Dot Churchill for $124.99 patients is key. Happy smoking, everyone.

Thank you for that info. I am a nubie to the hobby and found the topic very informative. I have a question maybe you have an opinion on. The cigar store near me doesn't really have fresh cigars. I go there, buy a few sticks, bring them home and they last maybe 4-5 days. I have a well-seasoned humidor that I keep in a good range. My question is, should I say something to the workers (who aren't the friendliest of people)? I actually have found an online retailer that I am happy with.

Thanks for watching and for the comment. I'd stick with an online seller you trust for quality and fair prices. I think running a retail cigar store is an uphill battle, but it's hard to sympathize with many of the shops I go to - they are often surly and unfriendly, many do a bad job merchandising and even worse taking care of their cigars.

Cigars normally last 4 to 5 days outside of a humidor. If you're having problems keeping them in good smoking condition inside your humidor unfortunately your doing something wrong. (We all did this when starting off, so don't feel bad) My recommendation is to get yourself a big Tupperware that seals and get 4 Boveda packs of 62% RH 40 gram / size 67 per Tupperware. This will keep your cigars at around 65% RH perfect humidity for smoking. If most of your cigars are Cuban, then get the 65% RH or get two Tupperware and separate them. The reason for two different RH is that Cuban cigars are not aged as long as most new world cigars. The higher humidity helps age your cigars so if your storing any cigars for a long time 65% is the way to go as it will be higher humidity inside the Tupperware container rule of thumb is 4% higher then the Boveda says. The reason for this is that the container is sealed, so it's also important to open your Tupperware for a minute once a week to let fresh air inside. It takes 4 to 8 days for your new cigars to be at optimal humidity after placing them inside your humidor, so let them rest before smoking them. It will improve your experience by a lot. Funny, I have a humidor, but decided to get a Tupperware container as the humidor humidity gauge was all over the place. Luckily, I haven't reached the taste for Cubans yet. I like Perdomo's and "Leather Rose" by Drew Estates. So far, I have been able to keep them alive in the humidor and had to sweet talk the "Old Lady" into giving up one of her containers 😁. So, I am placing an order from Cigars Inter. and will be using the Tupperware method. Thanks for your info and your time.
