The tight course polyester material of this Doctors Uniform provides a challenge for recording clean scratch free dialog. We cover 6 different rig ideas for this Doctors Uniform.
An URSA Plush Sleeve rig stuck to the fabric, then stuck to the skin, a pinned Foamie, a MiniMount and naked rig with Super Tape with a bit of fur to soften the noisy fabric!
Featuring sound recordists Göran Edström & Anton Zalecki 😄
We got some good results and covered situations with wind and lots of movement.
Hope you are enjoying these video breakdowns from our URSA Workshops!? If there is a rig you would like us to cover please let us know in the comments.
Filmed at Visono Media in Stockholm.

It's very informative, thanks for the video. If it's in a real doc situation, I will definitely not have the time to try out so many options, in this case, instead of wasting energy on finding the perfect spot, I would talk to the director and let the mic be visible. If it's a feature film, then, rely on the Boom, Lav would be only a backup in this situation, in the worst-case ADR. And also, I always judge if the rustling noise is acceptable by thinking if I can remove it in the post with iZotope RX, rustling noise caused by some hair, or some soft fabric can be easily removed with RX, if the audio signal has sufficient Mid-High frequencies.

Just a suggestion for future tests, have the test subject take off their headphones so we can eliminate the noise from the headphone cable as it rubs and bumps against the body.

hello greetings to the ursa community, I wanted to suggest doing a test with the vt500 voice electronic microphones since they are quite difficult to avoid having noise from rose with clothing

I love Ursa, but to be honest, they used the equivalent of a Rycote Overcover on the first guy. I would have suggested they remove the lanyards from their test subject and I'd have used a paperclip to isolate a COS-11, placed right the in "V" of the shirt.

With a paperclip, do you mean a safety pin? I try to imagine your mound!

@@vsbryan - no, a paperclip, bent so the larger arc provides isolation. The last mount they use with the 6060 functions in a similar way

Would be great if you sold a 4-pack with one of each color.
