Can’t tire of hearing Buffalo…..so expressive, well engineered and simply beautiful,a masterpiece Kathleen,She is some gifted singer/ musician/ songwriter. So glad you are back
When I first met Kathleen I was working at a reputable music shop in Ontario. She was one of the nicest people I'd ever met, and she trusted my opinion as to what gear to rent for an international tour she was doing. Moments after she left the shop I Googled her and immediately became a fan. Whenever she came into the shop after that I'd play it cool but she always sought me out to hook her up with gear. Always played it off as though I didn't know who she was musically and tried my best to just be a person talking to another person. She was always so genuine and so kind, never afraid of having a good laugh. I love you Kathleen. You. Are. Perfect.
Love Kathleen’s music, have pre-ordered the album so have been fortunate enough to hear a few of the tracks so far - beautifully done. We frequent several coffee shops throughout Ottawa and often make our way across town to enjoy a good cup of coffee at Quitters.
Discovered KE on WFUV years ago - one of the best songwriters, IMO, in the last 20 years...we're a Bluegrass band and finishing off Options Open w/Banjo, Avett style..
I've heard two tracks so far and her "sound" is still there, and better than ever. Thanks for giving us this, Kathleen. It's some happy news in a tough time.
Love Kathleen amd I am soo glad she is back! Her new album is excellent! Listening to it is like returning home. All tracks on that album are great and it was well worth taking the time away to care for herself and re-ignite her passion for music and songwriting. PS I wanted to add, that say what you want about Jian Gomeshi, but he was a helluva interviewer. Honestly, I wish he had been the one interviewing Kathleen. Ugh...so happy to hear her swear again!!! 😃😃😃👍👍
Great to hear KE share her personal story. On Safari, at the 15:40 mark the video and audio go dark. There is no performance of her song, even though there is about 6 min left on this file.
I’d like to hear a duet with Tom Wilson and Kathleen Edwards. Perfect song would be “The Way Life’s Been” by Tom Phillips. Chorus “The way life’s been it’s one short burn Don’t know what I’ve learned ‘cept how to cry, Way life’s been it’s hard to say I get by day to day, at least I try, The way life’s been is the way life goes, until ya die”
I love the new record, it's one of a few out of the blue records this year, people I loved but they went away. Not this year but how about a new Belly album after 23 years? Another singer I love is Nina Perrson of the Cardigans, each Cardigans album better than the last but Kathleen's are 1 to 4 all as good the last, she started strong and just kept it up. Another girl country singer I like is Brandi Carlile, kind of the exact opposite of Kathleen, a big country voice with infinite control and she seems to me to have avoided stardom for the love of being a professional touring musician. After all this finds some kind of coping balance and she can tour I hope the north-west of the uk gets a thought.
I love her music, but she seems like such a "boss" in this video, and the interviewer seems out so out of his element. I''m sorry if that sounds offensive, but I really hate this interview for so many reasons. I'm sure the interviewer is a good guy, and Kathleen is obviously a huge powerhouse of talent, but I'd hate working for/with either one of them. They say "never meet your heroes" and that's totally true.
