this is the most ridiculous situation I have ever seen in sports. I realize George has a true injury but the embiid issue makes no sense. he played in the Olympics but not many minutes. what's the problem? josh Harris sell the team!
Come on guys, this notion that they will suddenly morph into a title team when Embiid and George come back is laughable. Sit them, don't sit them, it won't matter. Both have injury histories and both are older players now, and injuries don't get better with age. Furthermore, to build a title contender, you need chemistry and continuity, which you can only build through playing together. And most importantly, they aren't as talented as the Celtics or the Knicks. They were more more talented than the Knicks last year and got outplayed. How on earth does anyone think they'll beat the Knicks when they have more talent now? I just don't get how anyone who has followed this team cannot see that they blew their chance at a title years ago when they did not hire a real GM after letting Hinkie walk. That was the moment to put the franchise on the right track. When they did not do that, they basically chopped off their own legs. The Celtics and Sixers are mirror images of one another. Both were in the exact same place at the beginning of the 2010s. Yet, the Celtics had a real GM who drafted really well. They hired the right coaches who coached really well. The Sixers kept your favorite uncle around far longer than they should have. They hired a guy who was really in to big Italian collars. And then when they finally realized, long after everyone else, that they needed a steady respected presence in the franchise, they hired Doc Rivers, who had done nothing but fail since he won an NBA title all those years ago. Morey and Nurse were actually good hires, but they made them much much too late. Sorry, but it is too late. They are about a year away from tearing this thing down and returning to the dark gloomy days of the early process years.
