Sixteen Candles is a classic coming-of-age comedy directed by John Hughes. The film follows Samantha Baker, a high school sophomore who is anxiously awaiting her 16th birthday, but is disappointed when her family forgets about it due to her sister's upcoming wedding. To make matters worse, Samantha is also dealing with a crush on a senior named Jake Ryan, who doesn't even know she exists. As she navigates through the ups and downs of teenage life, Samantha befriends a geeky freshman named Ted and deals with the advances of a nerdy admirer named Farmer Ted. Along the way, Samantha learns important lessons about growing up, fitting in, and finding true love.
