Uncle Buck will always be my Number One John Candy movie, but I also loved him in Cool Runnings, Home Alone, and Only The Lonely to mention a few others. John was in a class all by himself, and there'll never be another like him.

I always wondered . . . Who would get the quarter? A rat wouldn't know what to do with it. Maybe someone who owned a rat as a pet would charge her a quarter? And what would she have to rub on her skintag to get the rat to gnaw it off? And wouldn't it be too painful to endure? I know, "It's just a movie"--but such lines are funnier when they make you think of such things.

I am a 6’3” 270 lb strait up lumberjack meat n potatoes man. But for some reason, every time John Candy’s image freezes at the end of Uncle Buck I cry every single time. There was something about John Candy that seemed so kind and just an overall great human being. A piece of my heart died the day he passed away, and much of what used to be great comedy died along with him. RIP big guy! 😢

I'm not sure John Candy ever stared in a bad movie. My top 3 favorites are The Great Outdoors, Summer Rental,, and Uncle Buck. John had such an genuine and endearing personality, he brought joy to anyone who had the pleasure to watch one of his films. I doubt he ever realized just how loved he was, and how many people he ultimately touched. RIP big guy !

I was in 9th grade when John died. I was so saddened at the time 😞 This year i'm turning 43 and it really hits home how much we missed out on with this legend leaving us.

Back in the late 80's, John Candy and the SCTV crew worked in Edmonton for two years instead of Toronto. There they produced episodes for the show at a TV station called ITV and the Allard studios. Turn to the left, go up to the newsroom. Turn to the right and go down to the green room and production. In that area of the hallway is a directors chair with the name John Candy on the back. No one....I mean NO ONE sits in this chair...EVER. Even till this day it's still there. I'd look at that chair everytime I went for an audition. Always made me smile. Happy new year everyone!

John Candy was a great actor that gave more than 100% to all the parts that he played. and is sadly missed. Uncle Buck was a perfect role for him, togeather with Plains, Trains and Automobiles they are two films that i always try to watch. For me Uncle Buck was his best performance and is a true classic.🙂
