That attendant was a LIAR. There's a gorgeous dress for everyone out there. That salon wasn't interested in helping you find it. For shame! I am happy that you did end up getting a beautiful dress made with love.

Thats so amazing your mom made your dress for you! I love that. I am so sorry you've had bad experiences, I was a bridesmaid many times and often a size 12 and would get the same shaming in shops, now that I am getting married and way beyond a size 12 I just went online, life is too short to let others to rain on your moment.

The assistant should have been reported or even fired. A long string of similarly rude sales assistant made my overweight childhood a nightmare and turned me into an insicure young woman, even when I lost the weight.

I often can find them online, so I can see if they end up wearing the dress. I can't find Kris, I did find her friend's social media but no wedding pictures. I think Kris and Brian were still married at least until last summer. Seems she is being sued by debt collection. She's a special education teacher.

That would probably be a bit sad in some of these cases. One of my friends wasn’t on the show but she got a dress at kleinfleds and I don’t think she was even married 2 years before they split

I think they changed a lot now, in more recent episodes all dresses are big enough even Zhen the bride on more plus size, I don't see this siza 1 & 0 anymore

Check out TLC's Curvy Brides' Boutique. It's an UK Version of this show, featuring a plus size bridal wear shop. They had some seriously big women on there and found them well fitting and flattering dresses.

All wedding designers should make their designs available for the larger sizes & each store should have sample dresses in every size available. It is soul destroying having to squeeze a size 20 into a 12 size dress. It does not hang correctly nor does look like it SHOULD

I understand just how she feels. My family made sure to let me know how fat I was and am, every chance they got! I will NEVER do this to my daughters!! Childhood trauma is definitely real!

It's not to say that her mom was not supportive; maybe she did not have good depth perception. I also can't size someone up, in fact I can't size anything up; I always choose a container too small for leftovers, I still have to fold away the side mirror of my car when I reverse at my parent's home (where I have grown up), to ensure that I don't rip it off against the gate (after more than 30 years driving), I always misjudge the doorway, resulting in bruises ... Really, we don't do it on purpose.

Let's be careful in saying her mother was never supportive. I hope that her mom was supportive in some ways, but was insensitive when it came to her weight.

I really like the fact that they had dressing gown that actually for her - so many places only have small towns and as a plus size they just don't fit! Well done Klienfelds!

I also thought the 2nd dress looked beautiful on her as well. It flowed beautifully and accented her shoulders so well❤

She looked beautiful in all the dresses, but I think the straps looked best on her. They added just enough support to her strapless bra, and that lift accented her waist.

I think that, also, because she is so tall, she carries her weight regally. She really is a stunning woman. It's like the way models in plus size catalogs can look so svelte in a size 18 because they are probably at least 5'10" while someone who wears the same size at 5'3" will look completely different.

Maybe your cousin relies on clothes to be stretchy rather than her actual measurements? whereas wedding dresses often come in materials that don't stretch much? I think the default size (6) for sample dresses is outrageous, but I don't believe sizes are that far off where you are a true and measured 12, and you end up only fitting 20. Many ppl have never measured up themselves and don't know what their true size is

@@jemmaj2919 no I'm trained in measuring people for clothes and did the measurements myself then the store did and agreed with me. It's well known in the industry that this is an issue.

I work as a seamstress in the bridal industry. Part of the problem is that a lot of retailers have lower their numbers. On a sewing pattern I am a size 12, in formal wear (wedding dress) I am a size 12, but at GAP I am a size 8. What I tell all my brides is to ignore the number and get a dress that fits your body! And realize that hardly anybody is an off the rack body and alterations are going to be needed

@@lestrada1351 Yeah, I second that. I'm a hobby seamstress and regularly shocked and dismayed at my size in patterns (both by American and European brands). I'm 2 sizes smaller in store bought clothes. Vanity sizing is definitely a thing in retail 😎. Because I really shouldn't fit into a size s. I'm neither petite nor extremely thin. So why do I fit into the smallest size many brands offer (some go down to xs, of course, but not all). Where does that leave really tiny girls?

I was a size 12 many years ago, and when I was a bridesmaid in 2 weddings, I knew they would make me size up. So when I called the store for my maid of honor outfit (I lived in a different state far away) I just told them to order a 16. The clerk insisted they needed measurements, and I reluctantly gave them, and she claimed they'd have to order me a size 20!!! I ended up paying extra because of their plus size "fee". Showed up for fitting months later close to my friend's wedding date, and the 2-piece outfit hung on me!! They tried blaming me for giving the wrong size and measurements, but I said I'd told whomever answered the phone that I wanted a 16, and that they argued with me and claimed I was huge with the numbers. The seamstress found the paperwork, saw the numbers and the clerk's name, and she and the owner criticized the clerk for not listening to me (she still thought she was right!). Policy was to charge to alter plus size dresses, but because I had paid the plus size dress fee, I wasn't charged for the major alterations needed, and that seamstress worked a miracle!!!
