WATCH SIZE MATTERS 2 AT THIS LINK: • SIZE MATTERS 2 - Mike ... www.fastrucks.c... mylifeatspeed.c... Gymkhana Semi Truck Awesome Feature. At the old El Toro Air Base where Ken Block performed the Gymkhana 1 feature.
I've seen a lot of people who *think* they can drive like that. It's pretty darned cool to see someone who pulls it off without breaking anyone's neck!
Thanks for the great comments!!! I am just sorting out the drifting thing on pavement. We built the truck for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and we are now trying to sort the brakes and chassis to make it more drift friendly. 4 360's in a 10,000 pound truck might not be doable but maybe I will try one in the next video. For fairness, Ken should come to Pikes Peak. in 2006, 21 rally cars from the least to the best competed, if we had been in their class, our time would have put us in 7th.
Mike's a professional stuntman with many years under his belt. Did all the truck stunts in T2, Black Dog, many more. Downside, he's in Yerrup now, doing Fast and Furious 6. Good guy, has 12 # bowling balls as anatomical components.
when I had my ps1 I used to hear that track playing on this video on Nascar...98 not sure...which was it! Nice drift old pa btw =) much luv from Africa
10,000 pound purpose built Semi Truck, the purpose being racing and drifting. you cant haul shit with it, so its just an oversized drift car. the guy got the skills, no doubt! but he also has the right tool for the job! even the cab of that truck is custom
its better dropping of the I-90 hill outta montana into idaho on snow pack at 0300 hours with a 45 foot trailer trying to drift pass your tractor and regaining control...chains, we dont need no stinking chains
To whoever said drift with a trailer obviously you don't know that semi's trailers aren't meant to turn a lot otherwise they would spin and drag the semi, so what you say if firstly impossible and second stupid
The only improvement I would make would be the truck. It would be an American Company's truck. The best looking truck in the world, the International LoneStar ! Now that would be a fine video indeed..
a little, but ive seen guys power slide an entire semi with trailer, i think thats way more difficult than powering up the motor to the break limit and sliding around.
@campasini I can tell from your comment and your channel's selection of video's that you know more about dinosaurs than cars let alone suspensions. Do some homework.
***** oh thanks, I couldn't tell... (That was sarcasm too, in case you really are as dumb as you sound) I'm gonna do my best to help you out here, because it sounds l like you really need it. RU-vid comments consist almost entirely of opinions. If you go through the comments and feel like you have to say something every time you disagree with one, you're gonna die early. I suggest you take the sick outta your ass, get over it, and move on. If I cared what you thought, I would have asked your opinion before I posted mine. Good day, sir.
Man that truck is insane the engine sounds amazing (numbers back it). I want to see him race this up pikes peak (that's got to be a scary run). Did anyone notice the trucks paint job is very close to the Gulf Shelby GT500 ?(2008 was showed cased with this paint scheme) (Also listening to that song I swear I was about to hear AC/DCs Stormy May Day)
@es4209 Me neither, but as long as we are having a good old fantasy truck drive, we might as well get the girl of our dreams involved!!!! Thanks for checking out the vid. Mike
Mav is right, the whole point to the video and calling it Size Matters was that you could give any accomplished driver a $300,000.00 Pro-Rally car and some seat time and they can do it. The Euro and Brazilian truck racers get to run on a regular basis with well sorted equipment. I wish that I had the opportunity to polish those skills with other competitors like they get to. Mike Ryan
Breaker 19...., nice looking ride... And that truck is cool too. :) Only thing I would do different is I would put a cow catcher on that freightliner and ram that ricegrinder tuner car into the next state.
@milesthewilliams2, not out of control. He's in control. And yeah I know it's not exactly "Cornering" (It's "cornering with style") ;) If he was out of control he wouldn't have gotten anywhere in that slalom. Either way I'm impressed that was done with a semi. Those lugs HAD to be screaming for mercy!
@HomeWindTurbines7 you know that 90% of "foreign" cars are made in america and just the opposite for american cars right??? so that would make a chevy camaro and ford mustang "ricegrinders"
@stupiddeep If it's paved then that means more speed and traction! The race might be a tad bit moire interesting! I've been up it a few times and hey an adventure is an adventure!
May we use this video for our Facebook page? We have over 300,000 truckers following us, they will love it. We will give you a cut of the profits...let us know please
using an automated weight balance unit with a 15ft long 200 pound low based weight on a corkscrew driver to move the sled of weight from one side to another within the truck, much like the HPI dbox in an rc drift car, the mechanism would detect awkward steering angles and incorporate a custom program to determine the distance the weight would move... as well as how far, this allows the trailer to be less of a problem while drifting.
Guy has skill, no doubt. Awesome video, but I still think any pro drifter can do that. Ken block would have to adjust to the size and power for a while first, but Sam Hubinette can handle the power levels just fine if he can keep a viper from eating him alive. Props to the driver, It would take me months to get that comfortable on that rig.And it would be more impressive still if the eye candy want so sweet. Might have paid more attention.
