Everytime I see you work on this truck it motivates me to do some more work on my father-in-laws old 93 F150. I just put a Flowmaster 44 exhaust system on it, not a true duel but a dual outlet. It sounds so much better than stock!!
I have this. I will admit that I have left my soft top on for the last year or so so didn’t use it. Thinking of putting the hard top on this winter and would use it again. Absolutely love it!!!
Whoa, sweet Benchmade knife. I have one similar to it. Surprised you are allowed to own an auto knife in California lol. Probably can't carry it on you in public though?
I just bought 83 c20 fixer last Saturday,no engine ,trans.Original 454,turbo 400,full floater 14 bolt,air con truck....a beast.Interior,paint needs replaced.Rare rust free,garaged Im guessing.Bought It to tow my 74 vega drag car.Your truck has so Inspired me to get busy on it.Great video,great content.
Respect! I am doing this on a 2005 DRZ400. And yup, it's gonna cost me! I am not as ambitious as you though! Carb rebuild, new, petcock, new grips, new plastic and a few other things, that will have to do :D
@@AutoEditsI have met quite a few travelers on DRZ's. They were happy. Light and power enough. Not sure I would trust my 2005 though, would definitely be doing some road side repairs on it and parts hunting. I love the reliability of my CRF250L though, just miss power.
@@AutoEdits - Oh, darn, you really brought that Tahoe back to life and made it look good especially for its age. But that’s okay, life goes on. I enjoy these garage car repair/project videos a lot, dare I say even more than the wheeling videos. I find these videos interesting and informative, keep up the good work.
I've owned a DR-Z400E (Australian delivered) and a cpl KTM 640 LC4, 99 and a 2001. The DR-Z appears to share many design elements and similarities...but I'd state that the DR-Z is a whole lot easier to own. Parts are everywhere, they're low stressed and bullet proof. My current 01 LC4 full resto is proving a challenge in many ways. Parts are scarce and insanely expensive.
I had some financial trouble last December and sold it to a dude near the coast. He texted me a few weeks after picking it up that he took it wheeling/camping and it did great. Haven't heard since then and hope he's enjoying fixing up the interior and driving it. Sorry to disappoint, I feel like an awful youtube host when I have to shuffle cars like that. But it turns out I'm not just a poor youtuber... I'm not great at my day job either. So it's gonna be tough for a while.
Sorry to hear Hang in there. Things always get better. Your shows are great We all enjoy them. They are put together like they could be on the Motor-trend channel.
I'm saving it until I can give it the full treatment. It needs all new seals and I'd like to put a posi-trac in there and a disc brake conversion "while I'm at it" ... so I'm testing myself to see if I can just leave it until all those parts are accumulated.
Reminded me, I need to get some 80 pound bags of sand to tone down my old dodge’s ride in back. Has new shocks and springs, just rides like a truck when empty.
I really like how this truck is turning out. Those wheels look fantastic. And refreshing leaf springs makes such a huge difference. At least this has coils up front. The last ones I did was on a leaf spring Jeep, so had to do all four of them! I am surprised your OCD hasn't forced you to clean up that rear diff cover :P
Yikes... doing four at once would be a serious job! I'm saving the rear axle until I get all the parts for a full rebuild... all new seals and bearings, possibly a posi and a disc brake conversion. It's testing me though 😂
The three tube shocks you have on the front and rear. What kind are those? Where could I get them? Are they the same ones I seen in your 7 year ago videos? Lastly I love all your content, very well done and put together.
I think cleaning the spring did most of the change to the back and you might need to put the spring you took out back later with the lift blocks. I guess we will see.
Why don't you just cut a couple feet off rebuild your Loop also I bought my winch cable for my tow truck for $66 it's an off-brand but it's great and it's a half inch because rope is smaller than steel and it is really easy to install anyways because I use the screw lug on the side of the spool that I tapped on my own 32,000 lb breaking strength 80 ft long
