This is the first time that I have seen Pete ! Not only lots of information, tips and tricks but your presentation is quite frankly the best that I have seen out of many others ! Really enjoyed your very relaxing delivery, thank you !
Pete always inspires me with his tips and techniques. He demonstrates such lovely work and offers great encouragement every time. 💕Thanks for these wonderful tutorials!
Wow super video, always enjoy watching you create! Excellent demos, tips and technics! Of course the folders and all the other goodies are marvelous. Look forward to part II.
Brilliant thank you. I buy all sorts of bits of card making pieces and I don’t always know what to do with them but this helps so much as to what to do with embossing folders. I’ll experiment a lot more now
So much creativity with embossing folders. Thank you for your excellent tutorial. I hope you feel better soon, it sounds as though you are battling a cold.
Thank you so much Pete, I really really enjoyed watching you create those different types of techniques but, I really really love ❤️ the hot glue piece. Amazing. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Fun ideas! I think that’s actually copper, gold, and silver foils, as I have those too. Rose gold is where they’ve mixed gold and copper and end up with a rosy gold colour, hence the name “rose gold”. I know this because I’m a metal-smith. :-)
Love these techniques and the design style. It's great seeing these fabulous cards made with them. I'd like to see a follow-up on the hot glue technique - that could be it's own video. I've never heard of that before.
Please use the overhead camera once you're done embossing so we can see the embossing detail on the cardstock. I was disappointed that I couldn't see the detail on all the cards because of the glare and distance.
Wow!! I've recently purchased a Big Shot, as I have just returned to cardmaking after a 'break' of almost 25 years (unintentional, but unfortunately medically necessary) , and I've discovered that the whole world of cardmaking and scrapbooking has changed 100% I was unable to afford an electronic version of a die cutter, unfortunately, so I purchased this one on recommendation from a friend. Although I'll only be able to do one pass at a time, it has been working perfectly so far and I'm looking forward to learning all of the tips and tricks that you have here. Thanks for an excellent video ! I'm hoping that I'll be able to find the basic "sandwiches" to use here somewhere - the explanations that come with the machine are hopeless 😔
It's so nice to hear you're back into crafting again Cathi. So glad you enjoyed this video 😊 Our RU-vid will be your tips and tricks bible, where you'll find all the help and inspiration! - Steph, Sizzix
Thank you,Pete! That was so much fun, I haven’t seen any of these techniques before! It’s so much better to see these, live, with all your instructions! I’ve never been brave enough to use the flakes, thank you in particular for that demo! I own the brayers but there again, haven’t played with them much! Were you using the foldaway because it has the most pressure of all the Sizzix machines? I heard Tim say that recently, had never heard that before, either. I was also interested to learn about the differences between distress inks & oxide inks on the folders, as well as the differences between cream acrylics & the more liquid ones. As you can see, practically eveything you discussed was new to me!! That makes this a very informative video!! Thanks so much! Have a wonderful blessed Christmas with your family! I have subscribed, so that I won’t miss any more of these wonderful videos! Erica❤
For some reason I thought it came with the rubber or silicone type embossing mat that I think some people use to emboss with stencils. I was disappointed when for the money I paid it wasn't in there. So I thought well, perhaps you don;t use it. So can someone tell me how to emboss with stencils in this beautiful machine please? I just unboxed mine and haven't removed all the protective vinyl yet in case there is some reason I have to return it. I want to use it a few times first if it's possible with that still in place.
Hi Denise, to emboss with stencils you'll need the Sizzix Silicone Rubber Mat as you mentioned which is available on our website. With the Impressions Pad and Silicone Rubber you can then emboss with any metal stencil including Thinlits Dies. Hope this helps! 🙂 - Steph, Sizzix
@@sizzix any metal stencil? You mean like cover plate dies? I’ve seen embossing done with Mylar stencils on a manual machine. I didn’t know you could use dies? Could you clarify please? Thank you. Also I’ve used the machine now and love it! It was very well done. And even if Tim Holtz doesn’t care for the little tray, I love it for my pick and tape!
I guess it just occurred to me that you are the "Pete X" on some of sizzix designs, is that right?? If so, I was just using your 'iron butterfly' die last night. 😂 I don't know what it's called, but that's what I call it-fab. :D Thanks for all of the great tips, I'm looking forward to trying some of these with my embossing folders!
