That was a great campus tour and one of the finest I have ever watched. I just fell in love with SJTU and I really wanna pursue my Bachelors here. Currently, I am a 12th-grade high school senior, please pray for me.
Wow... The new look of TLY is so modern!! I barely recognize the 1st floor. I lived on 5th floor for two years, 2003-2005, and then "occupied" a table in the lobby for another 4 years until I graduated from "ben ke" 本科. There I met students from many countries. I shared a room with another student. We bought a small fridge after we lost 10 cups of yogurt that we put in the communal refrigerator in the kitchen. Hot water was free. Once a week cleaning done by ayi was free. Internet was free. Main entrance was open 24/7. There was ayi to help us do our laundry in a kiosk located before the main entrance. If I remember correctly, I paid ¥4 per load for washing & drying which I did weekly. In the canteen, fresh "la mian" with soup and a few pieces of thinly sliced beef meat was ¥2.80 per bowl. When I left Shanghai in 2010, it cost ¥5. I was there on the last day of the old TLY. Every floor was full of students and TLY's ex inhabitants!😁
Nice. I've already graduated but to study internationally and in China seems like a lot of fun. Get a higher education and experience a new and different culture at the same time.
Avia! I'm just watching your video for the first time. This really is a time capsule, brings back all the memories. I'm so happy you made this!! -- Alex B from SJTU (Lianxing Gang) btw Andrew is 100% right about the tennis courts. You have to reserve a timeslot like at the gym.
Shanghai jiaotong university is an excellent university in China! There are many top scientists and expensive academic equipment! I am so glad that you can study in this university! It’s awesome! Cherish the precious time and learn more knowledge! Best wishes to you! I like your videos! I learn English from you!
Would u say it's hard for international students to get into sjtu ? I'm currently applying and I'm getting kinda scared ngl because I read that the acceptance rate is 37%
thank you so much for making this video, I might go to study there in September so this was super super helpful, please let me know if you have some facts or recommended places to go hile studying there! Thank you
Such an informative video, thank you!! I'm going on exchange to SJTU next year and was wondering if you chose your bed in the dorm or if it was already there? (just asking because it seem massive in comparison to other ones in xuhui campus dorms)
I miss SJTU!!! I had my exchange semester there this Spring. Taoliyuan was so hard to apply. I stayed in Lianxing Building, an old dorm with less space and ugly bathroom, and no TV btw, so I don't like it :(
Hi Avi! Been watching your videos to get inspired of Shanghai! Was wondering if you could do a video to share your application process into SJTU? I've just applied to do my Masters there, hope I get in!
Hi Nina! I hope you got into the Masters you applied for! Just like you 2 years ago, I am now browsing for information related to applying for Masters at Jiao Tong. I was wondering if you got in and if I could reach out to you for some more first hand info? Have a great day!
Omg used to study there in 2014 just got so much nostalgia, I’ll go back to this place asap. Just know that I scored tons of goals on this football pitch 🥲🥲🥲
Hi, Greeting from France! 🇫🇷 Such an informative video about Chinese culture and student life. I love it!❤️ Can I ask if you're supposed to live in the International dorm throughout your 3 or is it 4 year bachlors study in China?
The vpn I use for my laptop is Express VPN but it's payed. You can use it on a lot of devices. For my phone I use Hotspotsheild. Express is quite good for uploading. Hope this helps! :)
thank you for sharing the video. I have question related to the dorm in SJTU. As I heard so far, for some international students have some problem with their dorm as some will move out to rent other place. Does it mean first dorm you showed us? I think your dorm looks more fancy than the last one so should be no problem on that.
omg thank you for this video!! my bf lives there, and after high school we are going to study in shanghai! this video gave me many inspiratons for that♡ can I ask how did you get there? (with scolarship, or other way, bc I'm struggling with this one) Thank you, and have a nice years in china❤
They will have more international people coming to the university just cause of you now. Very informative videos but also, you're gorgeous (if you see next semester a bunch of male foreigners you already know the reason) hahahah
Hi! I'm coming to a Chinese university in autumn and I also plan to do vlogging. Mind sharing the equipment you use for vlogging? You sound really clear and your shots are superb. Thanks!
i watched your other video! I was super surprised to see how good your mandarin is! (I'm ethnically Chinese - but grew up in another part of Asia, so my mandarin not nearly as good as a native speaker) how long have you been learning mandarin?
also, i have a friend who plans on studying abroad hopefully in shanghai as well for a semester - do you know if SJTU offers language programs per semester for high school graduates?
How much does it cost for the hostel/dorm fee on monthly basis? does it include electricity and internet or tenant/student(s) have to arrange separately with utilities & internet broadband provider?
Hello! I loved the video! Your room is quite big! I'm applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship and I'm writing a letter to send Shanghai Jiaotong University to ask them for an acceptance letter. Could you tell me any interesting facts that I can include in it? I already know about the mathematician, statesman and scientifics that study there. Thank you so much in advance!
Hi, I'm gonna start my postgraduate education in the Minhang campus of SJTU. I'm Chinese and I've been an exchange student at the University of Alberta in 2019. If you have any questions about SJTU or life in China, contact me. Email: WYX_formal@163.com
Hey , I am gonna apply soon for this university to study energy and power engineering in english and I want to know if it is good and worth it ,please let me know if you have an idea about this département
Would u say it's hard for international students to get into sjtu ? I'm currently applying and I'm getting kinda scared ngl because I read that the acceptance rate is 37%... Did u have really high scores or highschool grades ?
How much is your accommodation compared to the cheaper one? Is the cheaper halls also only internationals? Asking as a student going to study there next year!
Hello, thanks for the video. It is very nice. Thinking of applying there for a PhD law degree. May I ask someone about their thoughts on this university regarding Law?
