The lines repeated for most of the lyrics come from the Völuspá (“Profecy of the seeress”), stanza 28, first and most notorious poem from the Poetic Edda. When Odin, who loved to challenge others’ knowledge, tests the seeress’, she answers annoyed that she knows everything about him, including the fact that he took out his eye and offered it as a pledge to the wise giant Mímir to convince him to let him drink from the spring of knowledge he guards.
The lines “And they came before him, (…) There he will lie until Ragnarök” come instead from the Gylfaginning (“Gylfi’s deceit”), first part of the Prose Edda. The “they” it’s talking about are the serpent Jörmungandr, the giantess Hel and the wolf Fenrir. All three are Loki’s children and will play an important role in the fall of the gods during Ragnarök.
The names by which Odin is called are countless. Those listed in the song are only a part of them.
I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me.
Any suggestion and/or observation is warmly welcome.
The lyrics are pronounced as modern Icelandic, instead of using Old Norse pronunciation: e.g. they sing “á” as the Icelandic diphthong /au/ instead of the Old Norse /a:/, or “ll” as /tl/.

I really like this song for how ambiguous it is about it being with Odin or against him. Like on one hand you have this being sang as a praise to Odin saying all his names, his tail of his eye and how he banished jormungand to the sea but on the other hand you can make this sound as a threat that you know everything about his eye and his power, how his names dont have an efect on you and are not a secret to you and how he will pay for jormungand banishment when ragnarok starts.

If you want to teach it to yourself, go here norse-mythology.org/learn-old-norse/ There's 2 books and a dictionary linked in the article It is Old Iclandic, but is likely the closest youll get to the Old Norse. The language changed largely in northern Europe due to mainland influence. Iclandic changed some small spelling and pronunciation items, but this is the best source Ive found for teaching yourself. Very little exists for learning anything older.

Hello! First, thank you very much for your work, as I really love this song, I appreciate it very much. Secondly, I see you mentioned the fact that "the lyrics are pronounced as modern Icelandic, instead of using Old Norse pronunciation". Could you be so kind as made lyrics text in the form as it is pronounced in the Old Norse but with modern English letters? I'd love to sing it, but my tongue breaks when I try. Thank you again!
