Don't forget that the fuse is also there to protect the wire. When you had the 300 amp fuse in there and it was melting the wire, that means that the wire couldn't handle the 300 amps and you would have to get a larger size wire

I don’t know if anyone said it yet. But I’m one minute 32 seconds in. First you fuse for your wire not your amp. Whatever the wire can handle is the maximum amperage your fuse should be. Second, the reason that the wire is melting is because of the poor crimp connection at the battery. That will generate heat every time. OK now I’m gonna go back to the video. Thanks for posting

I have the Rp2000 and the amp kit I ordered from skar has the 300 fuse. So I did what u said and went back and checked the description on the amp and you are correct it calls for 200 watt fuse. Thanks keep them videos coming sub on ride on

You fuse for the wire not the amp. Depending on length of wire you should run a 300 amp fuse. A 200 amp fuse isn’t protecting nothing

Yo Bassaddict did you have to do anything special like a big 3 or a 2nd battery? I just ordered my skar rp2000.1d and I’m about to run 2 12” power acoustik gothics to it and was just wondering if it was draining your battery at all or dimming your headlights if you didn’t do the big 3 or have to get a 2nd battery

Recommended sub sonic level is 35 hz. To set your gain turn your head unit to 3/4 of the volume play a 40 hz test tone and turn the gain control slowly until you hear the the change kind of like a buzzing sound then back the gain off til it goes away

That wire needs go to your alternator not the battery alternator makes power not the battery also you need to do a big 3 upgrade

@@BassAddict91 I'm using a small fuse, not even drawing anywhere near 200 or 300 amps. You'll be lucky if that amp pulls 100 at full tilt. It's a decent amp but It does not draw a significant amount of power but it does what I need it to do. One thing about car audio is you can't overdo it sometimes It's always good to have headroom but I never overdue the fuses. I just install what you need, what your power requirements need and that's it. No need to have three or 400 amp fuses in a power wire that will never see that. You could run that amp off of 100 amp fuse and it would not blow all day long.
