Skate 1 is still AMAZING in 2022 

gonna have another skate 1 video up tomorrow, having a ton of fun with this game

I know everyone is going over the game design and gameplay. Me personally, I liked the sponsor system. Just felt really cool that I can pick a company to sponsor me and I can make money off tournaments. Also felt really rewarding buying stuff you made with that money

Skate 1 and 2 are pretty classic man. I'll never forget smoking weed for the first time and playing skate with my cousin for hours

The sound that the board makes when you skate on tiles is such an amazing attention to detail albeit a tiny one

Having played each Skate as they came out, the first one always looked best to me for some reason. 2 was sick as well. 3 took a physics and graphics hit for some reason

A year later and my childhood still kicks ass in realistic skateboarding

Best animation and physics of the three, you can tell they went all out for the first one. 2 just because of the maps.

I think out of the skate series 2 takes the throne.

I don't know what it is tbh but I find skate 3 very meh, skate 2 I find amazing but skate 1 hits different, I don't know why. Controls seem more tight, 2007 graphics gives me nostalgia, city feels fluid as hell and the story wasn't intrusive

It just has that sense of weight you know

The only game where you can actually rotate 360 degrees on flat

Still this game looks more realistic than skate 2 or any of the skates. Level design is perfect!

I prefer skate 1 to the rest of the 2 games. Graphically looks best. Tre flips are the best and the map is perfect. Always felt like the skate games kept getting downgraded after the first one. Sure theres more tricks and features but this game looked and felt very next gen for its time. 2007 was a great year for gaming.

i dont think we understand how important skate 1 is.. before that all we had was tony hawk arcade type skateboarding

26secs in and instantly shows how skate is dope. Downloaded the THPS remake on ps5 and it's trash. Thankfully I still have ps2/3 so I can play those when they were good. But skate takes the cake for sure

Skate 1 was a huge leap from the THPS series. At the time the controls gave a huge sense of realism and an unmatched connection to the character and board on screen. Times have moved on. They need to get rid of the legacy controls in favour of a more advanced control scheme.

I really dislike the pop and floaty look like gravity is lighter . Still looks more fun to plan than thps 1+2 . I’ve been playing games since the 90s. Started with a swag genesis , and had most of the consoles after that . (Except Xbox, ps3, Xbox 1 , ps5).My vibes are different After seeing what’s next . I have a hard time going backwards . All I want to do now is play skate 4 .

Personally I play skate 2 but that's it I don't really like skate 3 at all for some reason lol

skate 1 & 3 are the most fun games. i always hated how the movement and grinds on skate 2 honestly i feel it gets too much praise. all the street spots (rails and hubbas) in 2 are wayyyy too small you can barely skate them

Watching these Skate 1 and 2 videos makes me think that Skate 3 was just a rushed game to suck out all the money from the fans as fast as possible. So basically just a typical EA strategy of working. 🤷🏻‍♂️
