Just did this. If anyone sees this 2024, this was my method for hand planting on the roof. This worked for me, I kept trying to time it like other people said it just wasn't working for me. IF YOU HOLD THE RB (RIGHT BUMPER) FOR HANDPLANTING MIDDLE OF THE POOL YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK TO THE ROOF IF YOUR GOING FAST ENOUGH!!! I actually found it harder to do the transfer of the hip lol just thought I drop this incase someone is doing this like me
For anyone playing Skate 3 in 2022. I spent about an hour trying to get the hand plant on the roof using this method but kept falling. You DONT have to push forward on the left stick. It’s about timing. With enough momentum, the split second you go off the edge of the pool hold RB. Timing is key.

some tips: -in my experience, gymnast plants make you gain speed -to do the 720, you need to get to a 540 with left stick and then flick the right stick to the same direction you're spinning, it forces a 720. you need significant air for this -learn to pump, it's 100% necessary -to handplant the roof, you don't need to hold forward the left stick but you need to press rb INSTANTLY once you get off the edge of the pool
If you go to where the transfer is and Ollie spin into a foot plant at the very edge and keep spinning on the way down you can hit the 540 every time and if you pair with a bs mute you can hit the 720 with ease.
Once you get on the roof, place your marker up there and restart the challenge. While the countdown is going, you can teleport to your marker. This will make it way easier to get speed and will allow you to get to the roof early

For the hard challenge of handplanting that damn roof you have to push forward with your left stick and, at the same exact time, press rb, and you gotta keep both pressed in order to acomplish that (but obviously this has to be done a little bit after you don't actually handplant the pool)
Yeahhhhh...I think you're right cuz if you go fast enough it won't even let you handplant the pool anyway. I tried this right after I read your comment and it worked. I pumped back and forth in the pool twice (full length) and did it. Now I just gotta do it when the actual trick comes up in the list -_-
people struggling with the transfer: manual between the transfer to the other side and it’ll count. people struggling with hand planting the roof: press rb as soon as you leave the ramp, itll work
took me a day and a half all i gotta say is u should be able to do everything besides the roof hand plant and 720. the handplant is all abt timing u just need to hold ur left stick foward when u approach it then hold rb right as u leave the ledge or before u leave it. for the 720, fuck that pump shit just search a tutorial on how to speed glitch and speed glitch while ur in the pool.
It literally took me three for fours I was going crazy asf omg Press Rb as soon your board come off ledge For 720 must need air and pump and flick the right the same direction as your left stick When transitioning you go at a angle and you need mad air The roof not that bad just move left stick up I’m relieved asf Goodluck comrades
Sorry, I don’t know why I didn’t reply, i’m sure you’ve done it now, but this might help others, don’t ollie for the transfer, gain enough speed doing side to side in the bowl, and go off at an angle whilst pushing only the left stick
I cannot handplant the roof. Tried this 20+ times and I'll get everything done in 1.5 min except for that. If this vid didn't exist I would say it's impossible
for everyone wondering i jus spent 2 hrs trying to do one 720 challenge and the one thing i can say is don't ollie, the second i stopped popping on the attempt jump i did it
I’m not sure why many people dislike or struggle with this spot, it must be specific gameplays the user experience, because people mention the lack of game response to tricks and moves
Try tweaking a grab and do late flips fast enough while spinning to get a lot of points, although make sure you have a x3 multiplier first before you attempt it. Don’t forget to pump the quarter pipes to get more speed.
