When he say "hello friends" I felt that There are like 4skater here in my town and they all have important jobs to attend to so we rarely hangout 😭 It's really hard to find channel like this that focuses on explaining what's important. luv u ❤️ from Philippines
Whats up! I feel you, I've definitely had trouble finding friends to skate with in the past. Hope you can all get in a good skate sesh soon. Thanks for watching, and have fun skating! :)
Yo this series is great, I remember skating with you at UCLA once and how on lock your fundamentals were. Your videos have me relearning a lot of tricks I left half-baked. Thanks!
Omg, I remember trying this and landed primo and sprained my wrists. I stopped trying after that, lol but I'm glad to know that the front foot being too high is a contributor to that. Thanks!
Oh god, your comment makes me no longer wanna try shuvit. They say it’s an easier trick than ollie, but I can’t even shove properly the board with my back foot 😕. I find ollie and manuals way easier than shuvit.
@@fvnt0miix953 I think if you have wristguards you should be ok. But yeah, I honestly hate this shuvit trick lol then again I don't know any tricks... My shoulders screw up my ollies so bad I can't force myself to not turn them.
@@nextlvlroy I’m a beginner too and my board also turns when I ollie lol. I noticed when I align my shoulders with the board, my Ollies are straighter, but not as high... Keep practicing and we’ll get it someday!! I’m mostly scared of twisting my ankles cuz I had an accident about 7 years ago and my ankle still feels weird sometimes.
@@fvnt0miix953 How do you keep your shoulders aligned tho? Do you counter-rotate? My shoulders just naturally go there I can't stop myself from "naturally" doing that.
@@nextlvlroy I just mentally remind myself to aligning my shoulders before I ollie, making sure that they don’t turn. This is also why the ollie isn’t as high as if I don’t focus on my shoulders. It doesn’t feel as natural to force your shoulders to align, but this is the correct way and you just gotta do it!
Thank You!! Learned in less that a minute. All I needed to know was the foot positioning and you described it in much more accurate detail that any other tutorial! Sub well earned dude 👌
I literally watched this (im a beginner btw) went out side to try it and landed it in less than an hour, thank you so much for posting this and for all beginners I recommend you!!👍
I was messing up my shuvits and I’ve been so close too landing them and this video made me realize all the mistakes I’ve been making and why I can never hit it
Omg. Thank you so, so much. I'm gonna practice tomorrow noon!! Btw, I immediatly subbed. Hard to find youtubers like you bro. Explained very easy, whilst being to the point. Thanks!
one thing people forget to mention is you’re kind of doing a little hop forward along with the board to catch it from what i’ve been learning not sure if it’s accurate or not or if i’m just doing them weird but it works 10/10 lol
Hey! Glad this is helpful! Regarding how to tictac: If you haven't seen it yet, check out the "How to kickturn" tutorial I have on my channel. To tictac, just repeatedly kickturn to the left, then right, then left, etc. Have fun learning!
First flip trIck I learned after learning my very first grinds the front side and backside board slide now I'm doing nollie back and front side big spins
I'm learning this right now and let me tell you my ankles are black and blue :D but this tutorial is amazing, you seriously are the only channel getting me through the trying again and again to land it.
I recommend to put your back foot in the pocket as a beginner you tend to accidentally put pressure in the wrong way when having your toes hanging off the board causing the board to sometimes rotate vertical.
I already know how to shuv but I like to see people in the comments trying there hardest just to to try a trick and it makes my heart warm to see people helping them😄
0:25 time stamp so I can keep watching this part Edit: After an hour I posted that comment, I practiced non-stop!! And omg, practicing that motion HELPED SO MUCH!! I finally landed a shove it and I was able to land it again and again! I’m literally trying to burn that motion into my body so I don’t forget. I was sooo happy because I thought I wouldn’t be able to get it!!! Thank you, Yayayayayay!
Im a beginner so not sure if i can do it right now, but i will try this out thanks for the tips. Absolutely will check your channel later. Have fun skating!!
What i did learn that when i jump for a try just scoop the board when to try to jump like jump normal when you want scoop and try in training to jump high now
Do you have any tip about your back foot, every time I try a shuv it I land front foot first and it’s like my back foot isn’t fast enough to land. Can you help me?
so i followed the tips in this video, but my board still keeps rotating to the right i.e my front foot keeps ending up where my back foot should be. is there a way to keep the board from shifting to the right? thank you
So it sounds like your front foot is ending up too close to your tail, and your back foot is landing on the ground. You may be jumping a little backwards (towards your tail); I had this problem when I was a beginner, and it was mainly due to a lack of commitment. You need to just break the muscle memory of jumping towards your tail, and try to jump towards your nose after you shuv the board (at least, it'll feel like you're jumping towards your nose)
Idk, something about the motion of pushing my foot backwards I just can't do it. I can do it perfectly fine with one foot off the board, but when I'm actually on the board it just halts
