Most stock liners are pretty descent these days. No need to change them if you are not looking for any specific type of fit. Changing your liner however can greatly change the way a skate feels, fits and performs.
There are a few different types of aftermarket liners, ranging from thin ones to thick ones.
Skaters downsize by taking a shell that is usually to small for them but make it skateable with a very thin, or a worn down old liner.
Other skaters make their shell fit better by buying a new, and thicker liner. The better your foot is locked in, the better performance you have. More info on how to make your skates fit better can be found in this blog post:

Thanks for this interesting video. The outer shell and the liner of my Rollerblades are connected by a plastic tong at the heel. Is this intended to allow the liner to pull the outer shell and provide extra control ?

Boricua? Que size pediste? Tengo Los Powerslide Zoom EU 41-42.

Thank you both so much. My aeons make my feet scream. I’m right at the larger dual size and needing to explore another liner your video really helps with the important elements. I’ll also try the heal, but if I were to purchase a new liner what options would you say are best. Not doing tricks believe it or not. Just skating around .. only a year in

@@hvdb4492alternatively if you need more space. The intuition liber is good for increasing space in your boot and its at least said by many people to protect your feet better from specific pressure points in the boot because its harder outside so the pressure wont come through the liner. This is all just said by hearing never used a intuition liner myself

I just got a pair of USD Aeon Wii team blades in size 11-11.5 shell. But when I have my foot in the shell with my liner on the liner is so tight that my toe is snug to the end of the liner, sometimes I wear a size 11.5 shoe size (depending on the brand of shoe) but usually I wear a size 12 shoe. With my foot in just the shell (without the liner) I have plenty of space, should I buy a liner that is one size up let's say 11.5-12 or even a straight 12 size of should I bring them back and get a size 12 skate?. Thanks for the video.

Hey, a big fan of your content even before i got inlines. Im starting to get the best comfort out of my inlines, but i find the liner moves either on rough floors, or when attempting toe work. Is tightening the 45 degree strap + laces the answer? (Imperial 80, fatboy liner)
@blackyraypatrick9041

Yes. Alternatively maybe the shell is to big for your feet but first of all you should tighten the laces and strap more. There are also different ways of lacing to adapt to different problems

Can you make a video about how to deal with pressure points? because I have a horrible pressure point on my left food on the inside edge of my pointy bone above the heal.. It feels like that bone is pressing against the Hard Plastic directly, although I have powerslide next 110 with my fit liners.. this issue has just risen after 1 year of usage, it wasn't there when I first got my skates.

for me old jug 2 liner size 44 feels way more snug than a new seba CJ 2 prime liner of the same size. Even My fit 2nd skin size 44 (feels more of a 43) feels better for eliminating heel lift and not too tight widthwise. Why do you think that bigger liner in the same shell will fit better? My experience is diffrend. Thinner and smaller 2nd skin liner feels better in CJ 2 prime, than original liner.

Well put together. A key thing I ok for a liner is the soft, padded heel lock. I'm interested in the MyFit Crown. How thick the padding is and how soft is it. To give a reference, I consider the skinny and the fatboy soft and the recall hard. The indicator here is in which liner my ankle start to hurt. Does the Crown has heel lock like the fat and the skinny? Overall, how does it compare to those?
@Thisissoul
@Thisissoul 4 года назад
Hi peter. A good heel lock is super important. I didnt talk about that and should have. Thanks for reminding me. We do not stock the crown liner so that is why i can not test it. I did have it in my hand before and remember that it was super thick.
@chilli-iceolive-abode2447
@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 3 года назад
I'm sure you've figured out by now Peter, but just in case anyone else sees this and wants to know. It is thick, but it's a harder foam than the Fatboy with good heel lock. Initially I found it quite uncomfortable as I said cuz the foam seemed hard, but they broke in beautifully. You can heat mold to speed up that process if you wish.

I thought hard boot was plastic or carbon and a softboot was like a trigger or anything like that
@danatello8489
@danatello8489 4 года назад
Basically. Defining em like he does kind of comes from K2 creating the "soft boot" where there was no hard plastic shell surrounding the whole skate, the "liner" was a part of the skate, and many parts of the skate were quite soft. So some boots that have carbon in them might be considered "soft boot" if the liner is built in, particularly partly when at least part of the boot is just stiff fabrics (soft), and not a hard plastic shell.
@Thisissoul
@Thisissoul 4 года назад
Correct Danatello! It is such a fussy and not usefull definition as it has been used, that i just wanted to clarify it and make it in something we can actually use when describing skates.
