I play Session on Switch and just downloaded this at 1 AM last night. Took a while to download so went back to bed and got up an hour early to play for 2 hours and go to work and hour late today haha. Loving it so far! I live in San Diego and was STOKED to see EncinItas Poods as an official map as California Skatepark. I’ve even Soaped and filmed an edit there IRL!

I’m still preferring Session after the first hour and a half this morning before work trying Skater XL. Definitely looks better than Session, still getting used to the slightly different controls

@@Reallife315 grinding is different. In Session you have to input to grind. Skater XL is more about how you land into the grind. For that I prefer Session. One of the only other differences is that you pull down the sticks and let go to Ollie in Skater XL but in Session you hold down the right stick and then flick with the left stick. Both are super fun and very similar. I have played over 200 hours of session so I prefer that because I have it down better. But am quickly learning more and having a blast doing hippy flips and fun grinds in Skater XL. Also feels easier to do lines in Skater XL where I typically spot Session in Session.

Congrats NS! Well deserved! I think that is pretty awesome of EDS to send out a care package like that! We still need stats but I can see from how other devs have struggled to get Switch ports working at all, I imagine this has been a huge job for the 4-5 staff at EDS. I wonder if this will allow them to add more to the game as it should sell well. I hope so. Enjoy playing XL on the go NS! Peace out and have it good!

This came about 4 years too late. The *delayed* date was supposed to be several years ago. There's no excuse for it to have taken them this long to get it out, especially with only one single improvement to the gameplay since then.

I bought a switch in November 2020 because this was supposed to drop that December. 3 years later and I got it. I already have Session and feel it is superior but I wanted to skate EncinItas and LA since I live in San Diego and for only $39.99 I said HY! Loving it the 2 hours I played before work this morning. Controls are very similar thankfully

@@SoapworthyProductions Grabs, which are only a very small part of what they teased would be coming to the game, about 1 year ago. There's supposed to be primos and caspers as well at some point.

Better late than never. I’m hyped for the mods! Only thing I was concerned about when it was announced was how blurry/laggy it would be but this looks about as good as it can get on the hardware. Definitely deserves support.

I just wanted to give you an update, I played it on handheld and docked. It’s not bad, it does feel like skater xl, which is refreshing. I’m handheld you have to be precise, if not you do shuvs and hard flips when I just want a kick flip or Ollie. On pro controller it’s a little weird becuae im used to Xbox controller, so it’s just down to the feel of the joysticks and triggers. Just need to get a little more used to it. In general, I’m hyped to have this on switch.

Using the wireless full size controller it’s adding all kinds of shuvits and/or varials. Anyone else having that issue? Not sure if the switch controller is just slightly smaller therefor I’m just used to the Xbox controller.

I’m great at this game on Xbox and pc playing in handheld on my switch analogs feels to sensitive and I don’t have any drift feels like I have to be extra precise it’s a little annoying

Please help!! How can I 50-50 a kink rail? Everytime I try to 50-50 a kink rail the grind always turns into a 5-0/nosegrind. I don't know how to lock a 50-50 throughout the whole rail. please help!!

Is it just me or did they break skater xl for console? Hopped on last night after not playing it in forever (been playing session well because yall know) but when i was playing everything felt slow and clunky. I was barely getting 180s off. Anyone else have this experience or did i just forget how to be nice? 😂

I sold my Nintendo Switch to buy the Steam Deck. Skater XL runs great there. But I'm glad Nintendo Switch has Skater XL now. And i liked Nintendo's pro controller

still stable fps and looks pretty good. I just think the joycon sticks, might be a little too loose for me. I keep fs shuving when Im not on a pro controller

⁠@@NightspeedsI had assumptions that it would be a little weird on joycons with the size as well as joy con drift. There’s a WD-40 for electronics that I spray on the joysticks and it gets rid of joy con drift. But my copy arrives today, excited to try it in handheld mode first before I pop it on the TV with pro controller.

Блин, если у тебя есть хорошие связи с разработчиками skater xl, то попроси их, чтобы они задумались над идеей сделать встроенную в игру настройку физики (как в session skate sim), а то надоело играть с лунной физикой. Да, есть моды, но там надо заморачиваться над версией игры и т.д. ....

How the Hell do easy day studios have the money to buy promotional gear to send to content creators? shouldn't they spend that money on more than one developer so they can bring out updates more frequently than ever couple of years. This is just a cash grab by them and a damn cheap one at that. Send people some shit to get more people to buy the game on switch despite putting no effort into updating the game in a timely manner or even communicating with the people that have already handed over there money for a half assed game that's not worth shit without mods. without modding this game is nothing more than another sandbox game, and an expensive one at that for what you get. (EDIT); Not hating on ya boi night speeds. I wouldn't turn down a free games console and don't expect him to. Hes just living his best life playing games and i respect that just not easy days.

It's cool to be on switch, don't get me wrong. But the switch has such outdated graphical power it's not even funny. I love Nintendo but they keep putting out outdated hardware. Price isn't that much of a setback for us if we just save up. We will buy it. Give us better hardware even somewhat closer to modern hardware. Come on.
