I had a great first session on the Razors Genesys, but knew I could make the skates better for me. I swapped out the stock liner with a Reign v3 and the stock frames with 50/50 Prime frames. Then I took them to my favorite skate park to see if it made any difference.

I actually think some of the grinds you pulled off were some of the best you've done in awhile

As someone with wide feet I love my Genesys. Wish I knew how skinny the Reign V3's were before replacing them though, took a few months to break them in. Thanks for explaining the deep royale angle needed to get boot down. Makes me feel better about being old and inflexible.

You focused on the groove food on the KG. In the last Video you focused more on squashing the topside food. You can Spot the difference.

Lookin good out there Law. Keep it up!! Your back royales are solid. If you think “spread your boots apart a bit more” you might feel a bit more comfortable on the back foot and less likely to slide out with your CG more in between the skates. Otherwise looks great from the 3rd party view :) cheers!!

I am a week in to rollerblading and having a complete blast Getting the basics down. On my k2 Eddie Junior’s I bought some sway 57s To push me to get better and smoother lol And I bought some Kizer advanced 80mm frames too Question whether 76 mm wheels work currently on the 80 mm frame I doubt it but that’s the only thing I have at the moment

76mm will fit on 80mm frame. You won’t be using the maximum wheel size that the frame allows but you shouldn’t have any problems riding 76mm
@yetticuda
@yetticuda 2 года назад
Yeah in general you can go smaller with your wheels. By in general I mean in your 80mm frames 76mm or even 72mm would ride fine. Now if you went down to something like 60mm 58mm etc you could feel very disconnected from the wheels and even depending on the design slip out pushing off. The frame wall might hit the ground. But if there’s a 76mm wheel you want to try out you should have no issues at all. Hope this helps and didn’t confuse you any. And welcome to rolling. For the most part this community is great. Few salty people but that’s their issue not yours.

You can sand down those shock absorbers with high grit sand paper, they are too high. Laced the top sole to fish on the ledge in the last clip.oh that was trip mills, he looks like you on skates. Rough grind royal Trip, dope

The soul plate is thicker. The boot wasn't originally designed for those souls. They came out with a 4 piece soul (Murda, Stockwell) but then to stiffen the shell and stop the boot from wearing down they introduced the one piece soul on the first Shima Genysis pro model.

Could throw that new Dead shock absorber in it and see if that fixes the forward lean (?)

Im using my old white Genesys 9s boot, Reign liners from the Shifts, red 50/50 ***Balance (had wrote prime before but i had the wrong name) frames, 50/50 85a wheels no wheels in the middle, and red Remz low cut cuffs. Its pretty nice. The frames are good for grinding flat rails and ledges especially. Flat ledges i find to be the easiest object to learn grinds on safely. How ever i tried to go flat on the *Balance frames and i struggled with the middle wheels getting caught. i have been too used to having no middle wheels. Can you make a frame that has the middle wheels further away from the H block? When i put in middle wheels i found there was quite a bit of space between the outer wheels. the wheels are 58-60mm . Other wise i like the frames as i find them most agreeable to grind on all kind of objects

Do you have any advice on getting a p-rail slicker? I used sandpaper to get the brown gunk build up off it so it’s nice and shiny. I went over it with a candle a couple times. I tried a soul grind and still didn’t make it all the way across. It’s a 21 foot rail. For now, I’m just planning to get the rail clean and then go crazy with wax.
@cateyenebula
@cateyenebula 2 года назад
I think you have the slickest rail you can have if you do it that way. You can always go oldskool and just "go faster". Getting more on top on a rail makes a major difference as well.

@@cateyenebula I’m skating in my driveway. I already go max speed and still come up a little short. I just waxed it and starting to skate again now.

I love your videos, but how can I convince you to get a better camera that doesn't overheat so we can get more footage of you skating!
