Any time you see any DJ touching the top of pots and faders, you know they're doing utterly fuck all. People are so easily fooled by this bullshit and think it's some kind of mystic shit that effects the music. Let's face it, the absolute peak of electronic music was in the mid 90's, everything was solid back then. All a DJ needed was two decks and a two channel mixer (and a crate of wicked records).

I feel hatred in your tone. why hate, create. fx work/knob twiddling is an art. the fact that 99% of djs fail at it doesn't make good fx work any less valuable and enjoyable, for me at least. also, you're saying that electronic music = dj culture. but what about production? there's so much good music out there, original, unknown music, with much more crispy production that it used to be to be honest. me, I don't really care about sound quality, I care about soul. and it's still there. but you're obviously still stuck in the 90s.

the way proper djing should be. Convey your feeling. Convey your love. Convey your tracks. Do not care about anything else.

@C.D. Have you actually listened to Skee Mask's music? His Compro album in particular is on another level. It's like nothing to have come out of the 90s, or even anything today. Though if you can point me in the direction of similarly deep and thought-provoking music, please do!

bit weird what you say.. selecting your tracks carefully, make me think its a preset dj set, and not spontaneous live on the go selection. and picking the next tune should always be good but never perfect.
