If I had to create a skeleton commander it would have Creatures you control can regenerate from the graveyard. Put a +1+1 counter on it for each time it has regenerated this game. Then it would regenerate ability and a recursion ability to get it from the graveyard straight to the field. Just my idea 😁
Lightning skelemental indeed falls short as a creature for EDH standars, however in Chainer, Nightmare adept it does a ton of work! Even more if you play around cards like Obosh and Sarkhan's unsealing
if you have a lot of mana, carrionette can be activated multiple times at once to exile multiple creatures, because the part where you remove him is not part of the activation cost.
I could see underworld sentinel being good in the right deck. Sure, there are cards to return a creature from the yard for less, but this effect is on a body. Come into play triggers, attack triggers, skeletons just being in play, death triggers, etc. Not saying the cards good, but I could see it being a bit better than average.
Lightning Skelemental is a nice little Kroxa piece. It's also way better in 1v1 commander games. Do imps and bats. 2 tribes that definitely need support. Each needs a lord, sacrifice outlets, flying synergy, token makers, and other payoffs. Come to think of it, Ogres could use help too.
What a mythic! People were actually excited about Bone Dragon for awhile when it came out- M19? Yeah, it was over ten bucks I think. Mustve got a mention on the Command Zone and the lemmings went running.
I never realized how poorly the Skeleton tribe has been treated in the rare and mythic category. This tribe is going to get huge gains from the Army of Darkness set though!
@@benroberts1052, I wish there was an actual Army of Darkness set. I was making the comment/joke based on the Universes Beyond parts of MTG that we would get an intellectual property crossover set that would give us cool skeletons.
I play Lightning Skelemental in my Obosh deck...odd mana cost so it deals double damage...12/1 trample..yeah awesome! With damage doublers and triplers...
Demilich is not a good card lol it seems like it would be but you have to obey timing restrictions and it takes too long to make a significant impact on the game
@@waynefeller8824 and thats your opinion but in commander, it's not really a necessary card. If I'm playing an spell slinger deck then I would prefer a counter spell or something like that over this. There are better things to be doing
@@kingginger3335 - And there is your mistake. You see it only in a single strategy, Spellslinger. And at first it does deceptively appear to be built for Storm. But there are other Spellslinger strategies. A deck may rely on both attack and heavily on instants and sorceries. I can think of Zada, Adeliz, Valdrik, and Malcolm and Breeches, just to name a few. As such, I see a lot of use for it.
@@kingginger3335 - I already run this in my Malcolm and Breeches deck, where it helps me dig for my combo pieces by allowing me to recur draw spells. It is also a powerhouse in my Adeliz Prowess tribal deck, where it can often play that one spell to close out a game. And even in my Vadrik deck, this is pretty useful. Just because you don't run strategies that can utilize it doesn't mean they don't exist.
Wait Wait Wait. How can you have skeleton tribal and not even include the Skeleton making enchantment just made in Skeletal Swarming. That is a flavor fail guys come on. I expect better from you my teachers.
