Love your art!!! ❤❤❤ absolutely incredible! I was worried with the amount of water on top of that spread. Looking forward watching the rest of your videos, SO So excited.
Amazing! I would love to call your sketch book my own 😂. How satisfying to look through it and see all that lovely work. I really enjoyed your explanation of your work process and the result is simply gorgeous. Thank you
@@NeilWhiteheadArtist Yes Neil I’m starting this week to do some sketching, hopefully, I’m 75 so I’d better get cracking, greeting from Australia, unfortunately we don’t have all those quirky buildings here but I’ll persevere.👍😀🌺
How long did it take you to reach this stage? Im starting to pick up art as a hobby and i would love to have a timeframe. Love your art btw its so beautiful.
Thanks. Although it’s not been an entirely linear path, my style has really accelerated over the last 2- 3 years. It’s not so much about time, but seeking inspiration, asking for advice and ultimately drawing and drawing from life. Hope this helps - the journey is important. Keep your sketchbooks and chart your progress.
Hi Neil, your stuff is very cool…..when you are painting the yellow in at the end, is that imaginative, for effect, or are you responding to something you are seeing in photo reference? Thanks so much…
Thanks for the comment. Great question - I’m always keen to offer strong contrasts in my work. Often I will seek out the most vibrant colour and accentuate its use. Quite often yellow and sometimes red are what I look for to help justify the creative license. I’ve even used pink felt tip pen before to help the scene ‘pop’.
yes happily, this is a Moleskine Watercolour sketchbook - they can take a great deal of water 👍 I tend to use a range of pens including fineliners from 'paperchase' and the range of fineliners from Derwent.
Thank you. For me the single line exercise helps me keep a fluid rhythm and capture the core details without overworking. Not everyone’s cup of tea though. 😀
Beautiful work. I really love your lines and colors but could you turn up your volume next time? I could hear you if I turn the speaker all the way up but I almost get a heart attack when the ad comes on or when I switch to different RU-vid videos. Thanks.
