The beauty of my Sketchbook Italia art retreat in Le Marche is that it's held in the most beautifully converted old farmhouse and barn. It's stunning. Il Picchio Verde is rated 5 stars on TripAdvisor and if you come, you'll see why, but the uniqueness of it makes describing and photographing the rooms a challenge sometimes. With that in mind, I've had a go at doing a video. Apologies that it is a little like the Blair Witch Project at times but I hope it gives you an idea! We take a maximum of 8 guests for the retreat - it means the tuition isn't spread too thin but it does mean the retreats get booked up rather quickly in advance when dates are released.

Il Picchio Verde consists of a main house and two apartments. Here are the time stamps if you'd like to jump to those in the video:
1.43: Jasmine apartment: Composed of kitchen with hob, fridge, crockery, kettle and toaster, large living room with a sofa and satellite TV, and bathroom with shower.
The mezzanine in both apartments is reached through an iron staircase and has one double bed. Sleeps a maximum of 2: 1 couple or 2 singles
2.33: Biancospina apartment: As above.
3.15: Main house: This is where we'll be having our meals and we'll be having painting lessons in the large extension overlooking the pool.
3.42: Marie Curie: The lovely suite “Marie Curie”, whose name comes from a rose in our garden, is a large bright room with wooden beamed ceiling furnished with antique and paintings. The bathroom, adjacent to the room, includes a large bath as well as a shower. This has one double bed. Sleeps a maximum of 2: 1 couple or 2 singles.
4.26: Iris: The smallest of the rooms, Iris, softened by pastel colors and panoramic views of the hills beyond the pool, is located on the first floor. This room does not have an en-suite. The bathroom is on the first floor and includes a bath where you can relax in peace after a long day of sketching! Sleeps a maximum of 2: 1 couple or 2 singles.
5.33: Althaea Suite: The cosy attic bedroom “Althaea” occupies the entire second floor of the building and offers a bedroom with either a double bed / twin beds, a separate single bed in a semi-private area and includes a bathroom with shower, a small study area and living room.
