iPad + Apple Pencil + Procreate = 100% of my sketchnoting for the past year and a half. Love that you covered this!!!

Verbal To Visual Things I do: Use a template that resembles dot graph paper that I duplicate for particular types of notes; have a set of brushes I use just for notes; and have a specific palette that I use just for notes. That way my notes have a consistent theme to them. I then export almost all of them and save them in the Day One journaling app. Let me know if you want to see some examples. Would love to share.

Great video. I've been using Procreate on the 9.7 iPad Pro for sketchnoting at church and have loved it.

Have you looked at Goodnotes? The best thing about it is that it has handwriting recognition so you can search your sketchnotes. Just thought you might like to check it out. Plus it's probably a better tool for the average sketchnote user as opposed to Procreate. IMO

I would love to have this for college, so I can save all my notes and have them on the go. But it's so darn expensive

How do you get the export for Procreate to be slow like in your intro? I have tried sketchnoting for title screens for a video but they just blip by in like 2 seconds and it’s not enough for a title card and I don’t see a way to extend the video length on the timelapse export.

Thanks for the tips and lessons. I’ve been learning a lot from you and have recently taken the courage to go for it. I am a real estate developer/broker/appraiser/consultant who wishes to share what I know but wishes not to be in front of the camera. Hopefully, someday I’d care less and be less conscious; but till then, I hope to be better in doodling and expressing myself in the way you’ve masterfully been doing so. Grateful here! Great work, as always!

Too much selling of your services much less explaination of the app itself. Highly didappointing! Without sharing how to chose particular settings on the app, people can't actually use the app the way you do! So whats the use of the video, except for selling?

This is great Doug, and is forming part of my research for the Digital Sketchnoting course I'm doing with you verbaltovisual.mn.co/plans/40054 (I'm loving the course, by the way!!!). With your help, I'm getting more confident. At the moment, I'm just seeing how to make my pallet and choose my go-to brushes. I like that in this video, you show how you stick to one pen thickness. I'll experiment with this because it will be a time saver for me. I've not noticed what you demonstrate in here with the pressure being none-intuitive. I'm going to have a look at that when I hop back onto my iPad in a moment. I've subscribed and I'm looking forward to binge-viewing your videos today. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the great video series. I have found that vector drawing apps provide more flexibility for sketch-noting than painting apps like Procreate or Paper 53. My current such favourite is probably Concepts: it has the extremely useful feature of being able to create your own 'objects' (such as my commonly used icons) and just drag and drop them onto a sketch. All parts of the drawing being vector objects also allows very simple rescaling or shuffling on the page - indispensable with my current fluency (lack of!) in sketch-noting.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Concepts! I haven't experimented much with vector-based drawing apps but I'm looking forward to doing that in the future, and I'm glad I now know a good one to start with! Cheers.
