#SketchUp #3dsoftware #chatgpt How to use Chat GPT to create a useful code snippet for SketchUp Chapters 00:00 - Intro 00:05 - Example #1 02:32 - Example #2 04:31 - Example #3 06:41 - Example #4
cool stuff! I aproached a similar method for making a plugin that applies a unique colour to selected groups or components. Although it took me way longer because I know nothing about coding and I didn't know how to ask for it.
awesome i love this video :)))) development would be able to take a shorter way to the next edge of this tech world. AI did work well for this journey.
Is there a plugin or script that helps me fill the texture for a whole group ( the group contains several groups ) without double clicking to enter edit mode ? The current plugin only fills faces by faces T^T
could you try ruby code for 1-scene export 2d dwg/dxf with tag/layer (alter/similar skalp) or/and 2-sketchup tag to sketchup layout layer for export dwg/dxf (shortcut alternatif and workflow) ???
I did, it took me a while but it does really work. open notepad, paste the code gpt generated, save the file as .rb while selecting ANSI as encoding. take the new .rb file to the plugins folder of sketchup and thats it, work like a charm every time. been looking for ages for a plugin like it, who knew it would be created by myself (GPT helped a bit hahahah)
You say ChatGPT 4 but you appear to be using the ChatGPT free version as its asking you to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, impressive it was doing all this in ChatGPT free version. I have done similar except with freeCAD.
Yeah I was surprised that it delivered functional code. I tried to have it help me write a sketch in Processing and the results were hilariously wrong..
oh Sorry, it's not "chatgpt 4" it's "4 different use cases" I give 4 different example in the video Thanks for watching 😊 Is it working for you in freeCAD?
I don't remember the prompt in the video, but I tried this one just now, and it worked on the first attempt. - write a ruby script for SketchUp that push pull selection randomly range : 20" to 90" make sure you make a selection before running the script. and faces must be coplanar.
@@TutorialsUp Okay ! I will try this as prompt. I have one more query, How can we convert this into an (rbz)extension that can be installed in sketchup.
After this small practical demonstration, I am more and more convinced that for future generations of software developers, the future (for them) will be that of going back to picking cotton balls with bare hands in the fields of Alabama or anywhere else in the "new world" ". a fact remains, sketchup has always given me great satisfaction. I bought some plugins from the developers. In my own small way, I will continue to do so in the future. I prefer to have human "friends" who, with the 4 cents I invest for their work, can take a coffee for my health (I'm Italian, coffee is all in front of the PC), rather than letting myself be guided by aseptic entities to real life.
