Surfing edit of a super fun shallow point break near Ventura / Santa Barbara on a fun west swell with little wind and glassy conditions. Most of these clips are from January 2020, when I managed to score lots of fun surf sessions, with and without the camera, at this spot when we had good waves for weeks on end. Managed a couple mini barrels, shot the pier, some carves, and got on a couple random long peeling waves. Occasionally , this wave can offer up a hollow section that runs underneath the pier and above a big gnarly rock, in about a foot deep of water. This is pretty rare, and only happens when the sandbar and tide is just right. It is pretty much a glorified shore break wave. around the 7 minute mark a couple guys attempt to barreled while shooting the pier. Even though it's not a huge wave that alone is super sketchy and mad props to those guys. Id love to get a video of that on the gopro.
Apologies for the loud breathing and the mediocre surfing.
It is honestly more of a novelty fun wave than a high performance one, due to the fact that the wave always seems to bend away from the coast, and usually has a weird wonk in the face. When this spot is good, usually all the other spots nearby are...
Thanks a ton for watching and please like and subscribe for more surfing.
