We're putting together a traditional Inuit sled design called a qamutiik to haul the logs we need for the cordwood sauna's timber framing. But once it's together we get into a jam on the beaver pond as the warmer weather has left the ice conditions unfavourable.

Watched your video many times since last year and this year again I made 4 qamutiqs last year , though 3 on a 7 degree angle and worked fine. Never got loose, and made one straight cut like the way they make it here and 1 side after being used got loose so had problem coming back from fishing . So I put it in peace’s and cut my 7 degree angle and never have any problems with it 🤞🤗 Just want to say Thank you very much 🙏

Nice, but what did you use to cut notches in your decking?
@HayWoodsandWetlands
@HayWoodsandWetlands 3 года назад
I used a bandsaw, but you could use a jigsaw, a coping saw, or just a handsaw and do simple V's.

@@HayWoodsandWetlands Just v cuts? yours look like they are somewhat curved on one side or is it just me seeing things again, thanks for the reply.

@@SonnyVator Mine have a curve you're correct. Again, Bandsaw, Jigsaw or Coping saw could achieve this, but if you only had a hand saw the straight V's would probably work fine.

@HayWoodsandWetlands
@HayWoodsandWetlands 3 года назад
Just with a skil saw. Doesn't need to be super precise.
