Old aluminum boats are the best. You seldom see fiberglass or wooden boats lasting as long as aluminum boats do. I've owned several and currently own a 14 foot deep V, 1969 Proline with a 1969 electric start 25hp Evinrude. I got the boat, two motors (25hp Evinrude & a 7.5hp Honda 4 stroke) a very nice trailer, battery, oars, paddles and anchor for $500 dollars U.S.
I would not turn a homemade meal like that down. That looks delicious. I have always wanted to make banic. Thanks for showing and explaining the receipts

Good video. Good review. I just put my Cub in my camper trailer that I'm spending the winter in. In northern Alberta so will be a cold winter. Just the start of November and the cold hasn't set in yet. I bought the mounting kit. The shelf and back plate for the flew and such. Works beautifully and looks great but very pricey. And your definitely right about constantly having to feed the fire. Its constant. I'm burning poplar right now and its gotta be the worst wood there is for firewood. I'm planning on getting some spruce or tamarack from a wood dealer in town. See how it does. There is some birch for sale but it's hard to find up here.
Upgrade to a more popular motor, like a 9.9 Evinrude. Perfect for a boat like that. I have one now. Those Ted William motors are difficult to get parts for and not popular because of reliability issues.
Aurora and Boreal Beast are not the best match for cross pollination. They are OK. Boreal Beast, Boreal Blizzard, and Boreal Beauty are best matches. Aurora, Honeybee, Borealis, Tundra, and Indigo Series are best matches.
Thank you for the inspiration! The trailer I bought for $40 but I painted it with high heat paint. Next I always add a small bottle of (dawn dish soap) per tank of water. Dawn dish soap adds weight to water and acts as foam.
Same size as mine ,yours is very well organized which is upmost importance to me. I live in mine year round north eastern Washington. I use straw bales around the peremitor for added insulation in the winter. R12 and vapor barrier in walls and ceiling plis an extra 2 inch foam board in ceiling rafters. Propane heater. No solar yet. Stay cozy ! R11 not 12.
I love your work great job do you have a video on the build? How could i get spec.i would love to build one for me and my wife to have our quiet place thanks for sharing
How many cords of wood do you go through in a winter season? I'm building my own cabin that's going to have an interior of 8x8x8 foot with insulation on all walls and flooring.
I would have linseed oiled the head except just the two faces, as well, to prevent rust. It’s traditional to linseed oil metal as anti corrosion sealant.
Just for emergencies you can stash a container full of horse bedding pellets, (pine pellets), in your cabin water closet in case someone has some tummy troubles in the middle of the night. The pine pellets will immediately squash any smell and will absorb the liquids/semi-liquids which you can through into your outhouse the next morning. A 40 lb bag of pellets in 2022 in the U.S. was $7.00 a bag and if it used only for number 2 will last a very long time. The way to use it just for number two in the water closet is to use 1 gallon jugs for number one, even females can use the bottles by making a female style urinal using a funnel and tubing. Just putting that out there for anyone that needs a different solution.
