Another great video. Thanks for more training exercises on Bosu. Started using Bosu since 2004 when it was part of my PT recovery after back surgery. I have been mountain biking on technical single track trails since 1990. Riding through the trees and over rocks roots and fallen trees is my favorite training. You learn to pick a line and look at where you want to go not and what you want to avoid hitting. Momentum is your friend just like skiing powder. Hands are in front on the handlebars. Keep the great videos coming. Thanks.
I'm a lifetime Mountain biker, but just learning skiing(at 40!!!!) I hate the crud, and moguls, or rather they hate me! I so want to move into the trees!!! thanks so much for your videos!!!
Excellent training recommendations. recovering from meniscus surgery. PSIA II, working toward III. Thank you Deb. I watch your videos doing my rehab routine.
Cornering on mountain biking is basically turning in skiing. When you're turning left on MTB, you need to keep your right pedal down and distribute as much weight as possible to the right leg to go left (extremely similar to parallel turn on skis).
Can you suggest a simple routine for balance and agility with 1 bosu ball and an imaginary agility ladder ( home gym) ? I really need to work on balance and agility for skiing. 61 year old female just started strength training last year so have a long way to go. You are inspirational Thank you
Hi Deb! I love you and the videos you make... so inspiring. I remember you every time I get my chance to ski. I just wanted to know... how do you get back to skiing after a major injury such as Acl reconstruction? Maybe you have either experienced it or either been exposed to people who were impacted by this. I just got surgery earlier this year and I’m planning to go skiing late January. Just wanna know any tips whether mentally or physically
Mental and psychical go together. The most important thing so doing rehab work. Which means something. Need to move. What you put into it will lend confidence. Skiing is all about confidence. All this means is don't cheat yourself. Be real. Rehab is not easy. Yet do it and get past it. I won't get into specifics. But move!!! And you will be great.😊😊
Deb Armstrong thank you so much! I’ve been so eager and pushing myself with gym drills and trying your inline skating drills. Thanks for your recent uploaded videos, that gave me the best guideline to what muscles I should specifically train harder in. You taught me how to ski I went from green slopes to black diamonds in about 2 season which was such accomplishment! Love your biography so inspiring!
Sorry to butt in, but I did experience that. I ruptured my ACL in a skiing accident and had to have a surgery to get my acl replaced with an allograft. I was out for the rest of the season of course, and it took me several months to be active in anything. I was, however, go back to skiing the following season. The hardest obstacle to go over is the mental one. The psychological barrier is very hard to get over and it's terrifying when you go back to skiing for the first time after the surgery. However, I have good news for you, I have been able to ski just as good, if not better with my new acl, it's been several years by now and I don't feel or see any difference between my knees, so just believe in yourself and you'll be fine. I've been skiing (and even running) faster, better, longer after the surgery than before. Hope this helps and hope this answers your questions.
You are great, this is good stuff. How about a little more consciousness of what a little more ankle flex can make? When staying on one or even on both legs a little more ankle flex would give you a better balance, both to to the sides and forwards. If you make a jump this happens automatically anyway.
it sounds good however without much more information I would not recommend any exercise without knowing someone, their strength, athleticism, health, get my drift? have a great season!!!!!!!
Hum, meaning? A compliment I hope (smile). I need to work on the video quality I think to match Caseys video quality. my videos are so home produced, I do everything with my gopro and phone. My goal is to improve on the lighting quality and general video quality. Glad you found me.
Well this puts me to shame. Edit: I just realized I'm looking at a former Olympic gold medalist and World Cup skiier. That makes me feel slightly less ashamed.
