I don’t think she was paying attention to what he said cause she was talking tot he camera prob thought he was talking to one of the guys on the ground
My question is who is Carlo?! Seems important. That “is it really” comment told us Holy shit don’t screw this one up! So again Carlo must be a big deal?! But who is he?! And who is Susi beside’s Carlo’s Daughter??
as someone who worked as a lift operator for years but didn't personally have to deal with an evac, you're the absolute best case scenario typa person for an evac. calm, positive and patient - hell yeah :)
@@user-xm2nz1kv4eyou can’t be serious lol. You are literally creating a false assumption on the fact that she said she shouldnt be alone with her brain for that LONG. Sitting in a chair bored out of her mind with nothing to do but stare at snow for 2 and a half hours. She most certainly wasn’t freaking out or having bad thoughts. She was bored with no entertainment stuck with nothing but her mind to keep her company. That’s shitty but not scary or terrifying
you can tell it was his first time because a real worker would have said "maam put the selfie stick down you need to hold the rescue device with both hands"
I am a former ski patrol, just like this guy. Trust me it’s not his first time. You usually train every year to do this and you have to go through both ends….being the person lowered and the person doing the lowering on belay.
@@changedpace9169 idk why if someone asking for a number would matter especially if she’s 18+ then it don’t matter for shi, if he was thinking that which I highly doubt they are working anyways so it wouldn’t be very professional of them to do that
@@Unkown6678 because they work with her father, it wouldn't be a problem for them to get her number, they mention they work with her father though, so it would be awkward to hit on her. It wouldn't be professional but people do it all the time. I worked as a zipline tour guide and it's an incredibly advantageous place to get tourist girls numbers that are only in town for a few days.
@mickeystime2873it's a way of showing interest. If he wasn't interested at all he would have just gone on with the rescue, but the very direct manner in which he asked implied interest. That's why buddy was like "it's Carlo's daughter." As in "you might cause problems by hitting on her." It's subtle, but a lot of male interaction is.
@@JohnDoe-my5ip Likely. I would be pretty chill doing it from that height, but there are spots on some chairlifts I would be shitting bricks if I needed to repel down. Scared of heights lol.
This was exactly what I thought when I first saw this video! That movie will make sure that I never get on a ski lift not that the odds were that high it would happen anyway. 😂
Oh wow! Really cool video to show that there’s no need to panic and help will come, well done. Two hours man the thoughts that would be going through your mind. I think I also would have been contemplating jumping but I don’t think I could’ve gone through with it as that’s pretty high up. I guess that they know there would know there’s a high possibility people will be stuck and need rescuing from the chairs. Awesome rescue work 🤙🏽
Bro the fact y’all are out here saying that the guy told the other that “that’s Carlo’s daughter” like he was hitting on her. You do realize they obviously both knew Carlo, otherwise his reaction wouldn’t be “is it really?”. He is rescuing someone, they ask for names to help calm your nerves, take your mind off the situation at hand and present themselves as trustworthy. Stop reading into it, not all men just automatically want sex or to flirt because we see a girl.
She literally tells you she is mentally unstable and shouldn’t be alone for long and you think we need more people like her. This chick would drive me crazy of 5 mins listening to her nonsense
Ski patrolling seems like such a fun job, if only it paid. Imagine epic and ikon took the money they’re robbing from people and gave it to the people actually providing the experience.
Actually I belive this is a newer way still has some of the old way like getting on the little seat but the cable set up and how they do it looks a lot faster and better then it did say 5 years ago
Usually, people get together and hold something udnerneath for you to jump into that softens the blow. There are often these cushions around some trees or metal poles. 2.5 hours isn't a long time but sitting in place in freezing temperatures would suck more than an aching leg imo
I don't ski, but I wonder if someone could just pack a bit of rope into their pack. Tie it to the chair then slide down. Obviously would need to practice it a bit first and know how to tie knots but sure beats waiting for 3+ hours lol
@@Jomskylark I can't believe I never thought of that haha. I will pack rope next time I go skiing. For the most part when people do sports in an area with lifts, they don't carry any sort of equipment because the areas are quite safe. It would be smart also on my end to carry sth like a snow showel. Better safe than sorry
@@tilu3303 if you happen to have a prepper belt or watch band the temptation to unwind it and start preparing to use the rope would be strong. No telling when anyone would show up to rescue you or fix the lift. Boredom drives people to do some crazy things but when I was a kid I used to climb trees using paracord. It holds 500lbs or more.
I love you kinda freaked out, but kinda saw the humor and had the mental capability to film it and calm yourself. Really good job and thanks for the rare view!
I used to go skiing with a ski patrol guy. I got a free lift ticket, and in exchange I helped them practice lift evacuations. They ran me up the mountain, shut off the power to the lift, and brought me down with a rope.
Cool vid, didn’t know that’s how ski lift evac worked. What I think is even more impressive is how this is basically the role model for perfect behaviour of someone in a crisis - cool, calm and collected, responsive to the instructions of the responders, keeping the tension low, not creating any unnecessary additional distractions, and asking clarifying questions where necessary. Like there’s nothing that she could have done more correctly in that situation to make rescue as easy as possible. Fantastic stuff
@@BrialMusic ... sometimes its Very cold and Very windy or Raining ... I have been on ski lifts that were so high off the ground - they would need a helicopter to rescue you .
i watched the movie “frozen” where 3 friends get stuck on a ski lift that closes down for the season.. lets just say i would not have such a positive attitude lol good for her im glad she was able to get down soon
I haven't seen it, tho other commenters were talking about it. I'd simply not fear as I would trust my God and His protection, also wouldn't you fight off the wolves if needed? Y'all seem like the ppl to get stuck in a survival situation and then just get discouraged, all you do is complain and wait and don't do anything. Me? I'd be finding wood and making a fire, making a weapon with a branch for the potential wolves and so I can hunt and eat.as well as defend myself. I'd make a bushcraft shelter, as I'm not going in the wilderness without at least a knife/multi tool. Not to mention, a fire would make smoke and you could get found easier. I'm simply not accepting being eating by wolves without at least trying. I'm simply not accepting that I'm lost and gonna die and not gonna do anything.
😂😂 can you all appreciate just how wonderfully salute this young woman is and how amazing her only pans is lol I mean it’s the only kind of page I will subscribe to😂
My dad is a ski patroller and he has a buddy who always carries a rock climbing rope in his gear vest (what he carries his patrolling stuff in) so that should the need come, he can self evacuate. To either of our knowledge, he has never used it.
That’s pretty funny he carries that around. He’s probably never gonna use it. Lol cord thin enough to carry with you would be really sketchy to repel on because it would fly through the belay device. I guess they make 8 mm rope, but that would be pretty heavy.
@@i.suk.6146 40' ft of 7.5 mil, a mini belay device for that thickness, 'biner, a webbing sling for a harness and 50' of paracord could fit in a Nalgene pocket. That's without getting into any of the ultra small, ultra light (reputable lol) emergency rap belt-pouch kits. I actually don't see a reason not to have this next time I ski.
@@DJ-kg6zq I have no idea what size the rope is, but it is likely over 8 mm. He does some sport climbing and bouldering, so if he was given the chance he would use it. At one point he also had a license to throw dynamite for avalanche control. I know for a fact that he has done that.
@@i.suk.6146 You’re right about that. My dad’s friend carries all of his ski patrol equipment in a vest (the evac equipment is the heaviest by far,) and putting it on makes you feel like you’re wearing a bag of bricks.
Are you able to see what the deal is with her one hand? Early in the video, we can see both of her hands and they are pretty standard. So what is that sticking out of her sleeve when she goes to climb off?
Jum! Jump! Jump! You can meat some very friendly wolves 😉 . I just saw Frozen and recommend it highly! Not the Disney one but your kids should watch it too 😂
I love this girl more and more. She so damn pretty, her attitude and personality is amazing, her voice is cute. She can cook! I have not found a flaw in this girl and ive been following for a few years
