@@montyreed333 i remember the day it was released it was going head to head with Van Halen F.u.c.k album.. i bought both but i still listen to Slave to the grind a lot.
Graduated in 87, fixin to turn 55 in February. Haven’t cut my hair in a year. Proud to be part of the most ass kickin senior citizen group this planet will ever see. 🤘🏼🌴🐈🐈🐈🌴🏴☠️
Honestly, Skid Row is the band that definitely deserved WAY more hype than they ever actually got back then. If it wasn’t for me singing along to Seb in my bedroom aged 4 in the early 90’s I’d not be able to hit the high notes I can sing now, cheers Sebastian, you’re a legend.
Sebastian is out of breath announcing the next song and then a minute and a half later he belts out the opening lyrics like its fuck all! Most powerful voice in rock from the 80s without a doubt!!
This is from the Early 90s but Yes They started end of the 80s.Power Performance. They proved that They aint a Hair Metal Band. More a Heavy Metal Band
That build up and explosion at 2:14 is so intense, Skid Row put so much energy and heavy sound that was so distinct into this album. It was just so well executed. Never get tired of it! 🤘
unfortunately in 2019, Skid Row w/Bach does not exist because of Bach. he's a child growing older. he is very, very immature and i totally respect how Rachel, Scotti and Snake refuse to share the stage w/Bach again. those guys did it once already and learned that reuniting would Sebastian would be "all about Sebastian" and not so much about Skid Row.
@@pizdukanals he might be perfect for the type of music, but he is far from perfect the other 22 hours the band is not onstage. you have to separate those two to actually understand why losing Sebastian was the right decision.
The worst mistake Skid Row e er made was firing Sebastian Bach. As much as they denigrated him, Seb carried that band. They would have been nowhere without him and have been nowhere since. Such potential lost..
to be honest he left. and he is hasn't really been anywhere on his own. I've seen skid Row live in these years and with Jonny Sollinger and with ZP they are doing great i'd say.
He was fired due to his excessive drinking.....which was his demise in his life.....family and friends and wealth slipped thru his fingers....he was a fantastic singer.....he did musicals out side of his band cause of his voice.....could scream loud and high and never blew out his voice....
what you don't understand is Scotti, Rachel and Snake value 'sanity' over success, wealth and a reunion w/Sebastian. put this into perspective: Sebastian ruined being in a band so much that those guys refuse to share the stage with him again. a person would have to do significant amount of damage to make those guys feel how they do. i respect Scott, Rachel and Snake for sticking to their guns. Cannot be hard but if that makes them happy, more power to them.
Skid Row is not relevant today really. Bach is. He has been more relevant than them since the split. Van Halen was more relevant than Roth was after that split. I think the Skid Row guys not even trying to just have a lunch with Bach and just try being in the room after all this time is childish imo
I saw Skid Row at the London Astoria back in the early 90's, best live act I ever saw. Sebastian didn't bother turning up for the sound check and his bandmates couldn't have been more pissed with him... but he absolutely killed it and I guess all was forgiven at the end of the show.
I'd give anything to see a class act like skid row now days, and yes you missed out on a great era, that todays no talent could only dream to pocess! It was the greatest of times
Dudes so badass! Six steps from one side of the stage to the other! Struttin! Miss being young! Miss growing up with this shit! Miss the good ol' days getting wild and having fun. Not only did we raise some pulses, we raised hell!
I saw Skid Row open for Bon Jovi when I was 10 years old. I have a cool older sister, she introduced me to rock and brought me to see all the great bands. Skid Row is a lot better then I remember.
I remember that tour!! It was Skid row first big tour opening for Bon Jovi on the brotherhood tour for the New Jersey album. Wow that was a long time ago but good stuff
Oh yeah loved him at 15 and still do he’s a Scandinavian blonde bombshell, and had a life like poster on my door in the bedroom yummy, I also was in love with Morten Harket from Aha too those Vikings are blessed with great looks and great voices xox
@@aaastuff ...if you love a person doesn't matter...it's normal to get fat or glasses when you are no more young...physical aspect is important in my opinion, however it is not all. Charisma and passion for example are always inside a person. And that is what I perceive from Sebastian. It's incredibly sexy. Have a great day.
I'm old as dirt. Seen a lot of bands. Including Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Ronnie Montrose, the list goes on and on for almost 50 years. I saw Skidrow open for GNR in '88 or so in Los Angles. Skid Row not only upstaged GNR by orders of magnitude, they were/are one of the best live hard rock bands I've seen. This video is but one example.
Love hearing people mention Montrose. Whenever people ask if Hagar or Roth is better, I want to laugh in their face. Granted, I like them both, but Hagar blows Roth out of the water vocally. Though, his songs with VH weren't great (kinda like Ripper Owens with Judas Priest, despite his AWESOME voice [see his cover of Abigail]).
I was and still am a big fan of Skid Row. I miss the days of metal hair bands who not only wrote their songs which had meaning to them but they could also sing and proved it with the ballads they wrote and were famous for. I would have loved to see this show. I have seen Skid Row a few times and they put on a great show.
Yeah, that's a real trip going from Broadway to an 80s hairband. One song you're screaming your head off the next you're doing a ballad and have females, and maybe a few "funny" males (lol) melting all over. And he still has a strong voice, hasn't lost a step.
like layne staley? I dont agree with that comparison. Layne had some real sincere, passionate soul and he didnt look like a woman. Layne had a way more awesome voice.
Well, my brother has just given me the newest CD by "Skid Row", and Sabastian Bach is NOT on this CD. SO, of course, I was MEGA disappointed by that fact, and, I actually refused to even listen to it, BUT, I am kinda THINKING that since my little bro gave it to me, that MAYBE I should "give it a listen". I have NOT YET listened to it, BUT, I will eventually. Snake and Rachel were major players in the creative side of the band, AND, Scotty is a major part of the "WOW FACTOR" of the bands "live show", and SCOTTY kicks MAJOR ass on guitar, and the DRUMMER does a great job and he is CUTE too. SO, I WILL SAY that Sabastian BACH WAS a HUGE part of Skid Rows success, and, I really have NO IDEA WHY he ever left Skid Row, BUT, I do DOUBT that the guys in the band were just JEALOUS of him. It REALLY seemed like the guys in the band were quite comfortable with their positions in the band. Perhaps I have missed something though?
@Julie Gogola Yes, you have. They were definitely jealous of Sebastian. Rachel said in an interview that Skid Row was more than just Sebastian. He was especially jealous when Rolling Stone put Sebastian only on the cover. Read other articles too, saying the same, that jealousy was evident. Jealous of all the attention he got from the fans, females, especially and the media. They even separated from Sebastian on tour and made Sebastian get his own tour bus, separate from the rest of the band. For the record Sebastian didn't leave, he was kicked out. Anyway, Skid Row is not Skid Row without Sebastian. That's just a "cover band singer" signing Sebastian's parts (badly) with the rest of them. This isn't Skid Row and will never be.
@@Nisie23 I do wonder though now, does Sabastian still sound like he had years ago? I haven't heard any of his solo stuff yet. I'll try and find some of his current or current ish stuff to listen to.
Skid Row was a classy band, with so much respect from glam, trash and even grunge fans... These guys were truely talented... I was only 2 when this vid was recorded, damn how I wish to be in that crowd... =p
STTG. Commercial rock at its best and heaviest. Skid Row was one of those bands that got heavier on each record. The EP B-Side ourselves is one of the best extended plays out there. Perfect covers of psycho therapy and delivering the goods..
Thank God for this pro shot video. I saw Skid Row with Guns N' Roses exactly one month before this at the Inglewood Forum. Both bands were phenomenal light years beyond what can be described in the comment section of a You Tube video. What sucks though is that Izzy was backstage here and knew he was done.
Just want to say I was there front row Wembley, had Slave to Grind Album on cd still have and listen, also awaiting Guns n Roses, best concert ever went to. Love seeing the footage as brings so much memories it was fantastic. Cannot beat that day ever. X
This was the first concert I went to. Great set by skid row n nine inch nails. Guns n roses smashed it epic night 🤟🏻🤟🏻seen G n R live six times definitely one of the best concerts at the old Wembley stadium.
Seen this 91 tour, w GnR set (stood)front center stage 4th row... Of all my concerts, late 70's all the 80's, every "world of rock concerts" in Cleveland. All the Outdoor weekend concerts at Legend Valley. This concert tour in 1991 was by far the best concert of my life. Just home after a 7 year unplanned, never wanted vacation away from life itself. Both these bands came about, my number one, who stood strong with me thru it all, got the best seats available day one,at all cost. 9 days out home and free for the show. show of a lifetime. Sabathin pointed me out, laughing from knowing i was blowed away from the go, fresh and clean free, and pumped, skidrow opened it up for real. Then GnR, labled the most dangerous band in the world, rocked the house, over two hours loud as it can be, while acknowledging the recent complaints of city officials(Grove City, Ohio)@ Beulah Park Jockey Club. They had complaints 3 miles out into the suburbs,.. Axle Rose was straight crazy, rocked it out, with an attitude. The rest is history...
Dave and Scott and Bolan still writing some killer tunes.... SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed to Paul Anthony of Planet Rock that the band is putting the finishing touches on the final chapter of the "United World Rebellion" trilogy, which will tentatively be released in 2020. The disc is being tracked at a Nashville, Tennessee studio with producer Michael Wagener, who also helmed the group's 1989 self-titled debut and 1991's "Slave To The Grind".
Wow! Seb got a lot of help from the sound guy during that initial scream. You could hear the reverb pick up a LOT! Aside from that. Fantastic live performance from all band members.
He is the original metal head outside Halford & Ozzy for the simple reason he and skid row made the most awesome, true grit skid row music possible when easily Bach could have sold himself out to the modeling business or hollywood with his attractive looks. Instead he turned himself out and did the total opposite and became a true grit never changing skynard tabacoo chewing Free bird. His hair and attitude on stage cannot be duplicated. Pure metal head legend indeed. You can feel his heart!
That's my uncle Dave the snake sabo on guitar on the left. No bs. I got to party with them when I was 18 first time they played at Starland ballroom. And when I was 8 I got to watch them backstage at pnc arts center, then watch the ring movie with them on their bus after the show. Oh the good ol days.
@@ricklepick5134 Next time I see him which is rare, I'll ask him if that's possible lol. Some sort of a reunion type show with Sebastian, that would be cool to see.
I was there for this show, they simply blew Guns n' Roses away that day. And managed to get themselves banned from Wembley venues for life in the process... a slight problem as the headline tour Sebby mentions at the end of this clip included Wembley Arena! Hastily moved to Docklands Arena instead. Seen both the Skids and Sebby many times since!
A whole host of things, there is a longer video on here that shows more of the set, the intro to Get The Fuck Out explains it quite well. Basically GnR had had some riots in the USA not long before this UK date and the local council were shitting themselves that similar would happen here, with an attendance of 80,000, probably with good reason as this wasn't too long after Hillsborough. The council wrote to the band and insisted on no swearing, no stage diving, no nudity and that Get The Fuck Out could not be played without changing the words. The F count went through the roof, I think Rachel did do a stage dive, Rob flashed his bits about and Sebastian read the letter out to the crowd and got everyone chanting the title before playing it with no alterations to the lyrics. At the end he said if they pulled the plug that there would be 80,000 fist rolling motherfuckers to deal with. Wisely the show did not get stopped, but Skid Row did not get to play Wembley Arena later that year, and I don't think ever again - Sebastian I think has supported GnR at Wembley Arena around 2006 but there was some doubt about whether or not he would still be subject to the ban!
You just dont see front men lead into a tune like this anymore. Fuckin A. 100's o years from now, peeps be learnin how shit was done. The way it should be.
Its kinda funny they made STTG after touring with Pantera and them saying that Pantera blew them off the stage every show. I think its one of the reasons they went harder on that album. Its such a kick ass album.
