My wife, who loves the first two Skid Row albums, thinks Time bomb is a silly song. Meanwhile, if you ask her what is serious about Rattlesnake Shake or Sweet Little Sister, the conversation quickly ends. I love Time Bomb. Every song doesn't have to be an epic about World War 1. That might have been the result had ZP stayed in the band and I, for one, wouldn't be listening to the album if so. Rock and roll is supposed to be fun and have the occasional song with deep lyrics and meaning and the overall tone of energy, defiance, and fun. This seems to have it... I can't wait to hear the rest!
as for time bomb i hated the song first time i heard it. that fucking tic tic tic, i thought was why i hated it. after listening to it multiple times i have decided it wasnt the tic tic tic i hated but the melodic chorus. the melodic chorus does not fit this great song. i love the song until the first chorus but it is like everything but that chorus is great. I think if they had the band doing the tic tic tic or the some version of "im a time bomb" or "Im about to blow" or something other then that chorus it would have been a truly epic song. song is about exploding angrily im assuming and then you place a melodic chorus into it? why it doesnt fit at all.
Absolutely loved this album, and personally think it is my favorite Skid Row album. Just listened to their entire discography today, and out of their albums, the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 2013-2014 EP's and The Gang's All Here, are amazing!
Skid Row fans Rejoice. Thanks for the video. Suddenly I'm nine years old again and in love with those dirty rocker boys singing about anarchy. #tearitdown.
I have had this album for a few weeks now and I can't get enough. Highlights for me, aside from the singles, are Not Ded Yet, Resurrected and The Lights Come On.....that bass line is killer. Already hyped about a sophomore album from this lineup.
I think the addition of Erik has totally energized the guys. I’ve watched interviews with Snake and Rachel and they said this is like new beginning with Erik as the frontman. They’ve had him on their radar for years and the opportunity to get him was now. Awesome job guys.
Thank you for this.... I found your channel through your current play thru of pawns and kings.... and then looked through your past vids and found this..... I loved Skid Row when they first came out..... Got to see them on the gunners Aussie tour in there prime in the grind era.... This new music is a call back to the beginning and I love it.... Let's hope that this puts them back on top..... Awesome.... 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
They are absolutely killing it with Erik Gronwall. I've absolutely loved the singles and know I'm going to love the album also. I saw these guys live a couple weeks ago and they were just fantastic. I've seen Erik live a few times including his H.E.A.T days and I find myself always visualizing his energy on stage when I'm listening to his H.E.A.T and/or the new Skid Row songs. They guy is just infectious with his energy. I fully expect this album to be among my favorites this year and hope he's found a home in Skid Row and that there will be many more Skid Row albums with him. I do miss him in H.E.A.T but glad I still get to enjoy him in Skid Row!
Fortunately, I've had a few listens to this new album over past few weeks, and it is amazing. If you liked the debut album, or Slave to the Grind I suspect this album will give you similar vibes. As Leigh has commented previously, I also felt SR went off the boil from Subhuman Race onwards, but this album see's the band going right back to their roots with the help of SR fan/producer Nick Raskulinecz. Pretty much every song is fantastic, lots of catchy hooks/anthems which I'm sure will make it to their live set. Looking forward to seeing them kick @$$ on their upcoming UK tour :)
Saw them a couple weeks ago here in the USA....just freaking outstanding! Erik just knows how to own a crowd! For me, the new songs were the highlights of the set although I'm sure I'm in the minority on that. Either way, this band has definitely been reborn with Erik.
🙀 Hi Leigh, I'm back from the hurricane. I think SR got side tracked after Slave to the Grind. For me I loved the debut album the best, so I'm really looking forward to getting this one. It will be interesting to hear what there next album will sound like...rock on.
Really looking forward to the album as a long time fan of Erik's when he was with H.E.A.T. The first two singles are great and time bomb musically is great, but when you get to the chorus it's a little weak with the whole tick tick tick thing... other than the chorus, it's a great song. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album!
Ok mr iridium after listening to this album (gangs all here) at least a dozen times. This album was written for ZP obviously. time bomb was a missed opportunity for an epic song i mean a truly epic song. I love the song until that stupid melodic chorus. At first i thought it was the tic tic tic i hated but its the melodic chorus it just does not fit into a song about an eruption of anger. If they had the band belting out something about exploding i think it would have worked much better for that matter no chorus would have worked as well. . I love the album its a good album and i am excited to see what they can do with eric having music and lyrics written for/with him. I am with you slave to the grind is one of the best albums ever made in my opinion its among the top ten in my book possibly top 5. i have been listening to slave and this new album exclusively for the past two days. Slave to the grind has some amazing lyrics in nearly every song. riot act and get the Fuck out great songs but nothing special lyrically. the rest of the albums (slave) lyrics in my opinion are nearly unmatched save for a few albums. take those lyrics along with some exceptional guitars and drums truly makes that album amazing. I hope they take their time to make the next album not rush anything i feel they can make another great album, hoping. txs cheers
