The guitarist, Snake, started this band after he failed an audition for Cinderella. He said he wasn’t going to fail any more auditions. Seemed to work out. Slave to the Grind is a masterpiece.
It was after he did a 3 week tour with Bon Jovi in support of his first album. (They we’re childhood friends)When the got back he was replaced by Sambora. Bon Jovi also helped Skid Row get their 1st record deal.
@@jasonbodden8816 yeah, as much as everyone loved his vocals, when they’re sang like that, they’re gonna be short lived. Glad he lived for the moment tho. It wouldn’t have been the same, and it will be remembered for a long time!
This song title reminds me how dumb Skid Row has been for 20+ years, and please don't tell me how good all of the shity singers or drummers SR hired to replace Baz and Rob are. Can't replace or replicate the classic lineup, all SR has managed to do is waste time.
This song is about Steven Adler. He was the original drummer for Guns N Roses. He is still alive. He was kick out of the band for drug abuse. How bad do you have to be to get kicked out of Guns N Roses for Drug Abuse. Skid Row and Guns N Roses were very close. They often toured together.
When I hear this song, it's like hearing it for the first time every time. I remember when this song and album came out, and still relive that time when I hear it. Alot of people don't realize that my generation had some great music. So thank you for recognizing things that ment such to us so long ago💕
Sebastian Bach is the man with the golden pipes and the golden mane. That whole Slave to the Grind Album is killer. Listen to Monkey Business or Slave to the Grind.
I just saw Sebastian Bach in concert this last Saturday night here in Denver, I took my 16 yr old daughter, and we got front row. I will just say Holy Sh**!!!! Especially when he sang this song, Wasted Time. What an amazing show!!!!! Just as good as when I saw him with Skid Row several times 30 sumthin' years ago. Sebastian can still Rock the roof off the building. It was 2 hours of the greatest vocals!! My daughter is still on cloud 9. If y'all get a chance to see Sebastian Bach live, DO IT!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
"Where's my friend I used to know.....he's all alone, he's buried deep within a carcass searching for a soul....." Yes you did hear him say something about a friend ♥️
I agree with you Jayy about Sebastian's voice. It is just incredible! Like me he is Canadian, he is from Ontario, I am Quebec Montreal. This is such a beautiful song. The melody of it is haunting. Like other have said it was written about GNR drummer. I always love your comments on songs and your pure emotion listening to them. Luv ya Jayy!
the sun will rise again the earth will turn to sand creation's colors seems to fade to gray we'll see the sickly hand of time will writes your final rhyme and end in a memory beautiful and sad
Thank you. Anybody who has had/has an addiction can feel this song. The song is for Steven Addler the first drummer of Guns 'N Roses. Nice reaction, Luvv you Jayy
Amazing song by an amazing band. Quicksand Jesus and Monkey Business next please! About Steven Adler who is still alive but what he “left behind” was the success with Guns N Roses when he was fired by the band.
Steven Adler and Sebastian Bach were very good friends. Steven Adler became addicted to drugs. He's alive but he did lose him. Just not to death. Steven Adler was the drummer for the band Guns N' Roses
There’s a lot of debate over who this song was written about, but what we do know for sure is that when Sebastian sang it, he really felt it. You’re right about that. Still one of my favorites by Skid Row, it punches you in the gut. Their most popular songs are the sad ones but they also do harder stuff that’s not quite as emotional. Lots to check out if you want to, but even if you don’t I thank you for doing this one. I’m always happy to see this band on your channel.
This song hits close to home. Many a friend lost their battle with addiction. Thank God for every breath I take!! 11 months clean!! Life is to precious so enjoy the beauty. Sebastian's vocals touch my soul.
I've heard a few people, do covers of this song. While they did a good job, NO ONE will ever do Skid Row songs, the way Sebastian did. That many sang from the depths of his soul. He just pours his emotions, into everything he sang.
It's a song that Bach partially wrote about his friend Steven Adler who was a drummer for guns and roses. He got fired from guns and roses for his heroin usage. I find it particularly interesting because so many rock groups have problems with members, including Bach, who got fired from skid row for just being a complete asshole. My take is that you can't be great without being weird. You have to be weird to be great, or you'll just be boring. The same is true of so many other rock bands like guns and roses that dissolved because their singer was also an asshole. It's either a problem with drugs or attitude. So many bands don't understand that you don't get to be great without putting up with crazy people. Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Bach sings about not believing that Adler let it get so far, but that's rock and roll.
This was written for Steven Adler, the ex-drummer from Guns n Roses. He took a dark path and lost his job as drummer and it got worse. He is doing better. Was in the club, The Rainbow the night he was there,. DOing much better.,
This song hits close to home. Many a friend lost their battle with addiction. Thank God for every breath I take!! 11 months clean!! Life is to precious so enjoy the beauty. Sebastian's vocals touch my soul.
Listen to the lyrics from Mr Rainmaker from Warrent! You’ll thank me later! A Taste! Love never rained down on me dear! Only heartache and problems Now in your arms i can see clear, It’s only been raining water! You came along! With a patch of blue sky! Inside your arms,i found a place that’s warm and dry! Mr Rainmaker! Don’t waste your time! I found a girl who is positive sunshine! She is the little Queen of all of my dreams carry on! And Find someone else to rain on! RIP Jani Lane!
Some of the video footage was of actual active heroin users somewhere in the seedy parts of Paris, France, if I`m remembering correctly...it was highly edited for MTV play, but still got the message over......
Thank you for doing this. God bless you. The song was referencing the original drummer of guns and roses, Steven Adler..,(see dr. Drew Pinsky) Sebastian Bach is the best singer ever. Thank you so much for being so opened minded. Your reaction was absolutely beautiful and perfect. Love you honey. Loved when u said go drums and guitar…
This is about Sebastian's friend, Steven Adler, drummer for Guns n Roses, when he was way off into heroin addiction. He's wailing for his friend. Steven is with us still!!!
Rachel wrote every lyric Bach sang with skid row. Am I the only fan from when they were big in the 80s. Fuck I'm only 40. How does no one know anything
The greatest music from the heavy bands.. or glam bands..or euro bands in the 80s and very early 90s were about pain. The most lasting music from all genres include either pain or love. There are a ton of just fun songs as well.
He did he had a good friend who was addicted to heroin. He was the drummer for Guns N’ Roses. His drug addiction got so severe that he ended up having a stroke and was partially paralyzed hence, his career was over.
Sad song sung out of love and fear for his friend . His friend, Steven Addlet, did so much heroin he had a stroke that messed him up and he got kicked out of Guns'n Roses even. But he is still alive and finding his way.
Skip row was from my home town here in Jersey. They played in my buddy’s basement Sebastian put his soul into the music that’s why they are amazing in there prime
I love your reactions, but especially this one. Many of us have had to deal with drugs and a friend/relative. It’s a painful but beautiful song. You get it. Keep up the good work. ❤
Yeah Jayy. Some great singers in some of these heavy metal bands.I guess some of those guys could have been opera singers if they'd wanted to go down that road.
First time hearing this and boy was it painful to hear and seemed so heart wrenching to sing. Just brought me to tears to think of someone going thru this kind of heartbreaking loss. I totally get it, I think we all who have suffered to lose a soul we loved do (get it). I'm so sorry for the at and I know it never leaves you. 💔💙
Was written for his friend Steven Adler from GnR, who was battling a nasty Heroin Addiction (white horse). Steven Adler is still alive and from what I understand is clean and sober but suffered a stroke, and will never be the same.
Thank you for that emotion on wasted time. Sebastian wrote this for the drummer of guns and roses back then. Steven adler is still with us he did make it. But it was a hell of a song. One of the best vocals ever. He did end up on Broadway a few years later
This song was written for the drummer of Guns N Roses Steven Adler. It’s about how lost everything to a heroine addiction. Sabatian Bach and Steven Adler were great friends.
