I have the same problem with my 2008 Rev 800. Starter gear is worn right out. Ordered a new one and will install like your video.

what a nightmare. I can't believe it. I haven't got mine back together yet. one blood blister and a cut knuckle.

What did you use to get the clip off? Having all kinds of trouble. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yes I got it. thanks for the video it allowed me to see that I was doing it right but it was very shitty haha. this is my first fix on my 2012 and I hope the rest are easier. I am surprised they never used a snap ring.

its called a bendix,,and they wear out..yours is worn out inside the bendix drive
